Quotable Xangan Quixote

Don and Windmills
If you listen carefully, you'll notice that most all of us are very quotable beings. Quoting people isn't a matter of copying and mocking, but rather it's a way to immortalize someone's personality. Quotes from our mentors, and from the mouths of old friends long gone, help us to remember the great times and endearing people in our life.

I wanted to devote this entry to my favorite quotes of fellow Xangans, all published this year. These are the little flashes of undiscovered goodness that make my day. They appeared either in their entries or their comments. Though these are just a small sampling of the greatest one-liners of Xangaland, it's also proof that we are the hottest, zaniest, and sharpest bipeds roaming this planet!

"I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned" - weldon, August

"Telling me that I'm going to hell because I don't believe in Jesus Christ and God definitely is not a good start." - jinparky, September

"I've been there a couple times just cause I like the music they play and the people, although extremely fucked up on something, are actually really nice to talk to." - xevious10, January

"Eating is so over-rated.. yeah yeah stuff tastes good.. but I am sick of getting hungry and having to stop what I am doing to go eat something." - mrdavidn, August

"Cameron you motherfuck, I hate you. I love you! God, someone shut me up." - one hot xangan, early 2006

"My friend would rather make violent bear love to a stone gargoyle without protective measures." - rebirthX2, September

"He would twitch, just like a dying insect, as he gasped for his last breath.  It was disturbing.  Who writes a ballet like this?!?!" - mjh, August

"Water in vase. Faces, Angkor Wat, dragonfly with opaque, mosaic wings, moth, smiles, children's faces, weavers with AIDS, your photos. Salamander and elephant trinkets." - apollo1701, September

"All Day I Dream About Spending Money" - JonasApproved, April

wow, did you really do that, too?  amazing how we try to absolve ourselves of the parts we don't like about ourselves by trying to change someone else.  i wonder why we do that???  what would possess human beings to do something like that?  there must be a reason ....

seems that there's a lot that i want to talk to you about then .... i'll look forward to your visit in december because i guess this is a side of you that i didn't realize and i would be interested to get your perspective.

Just out of curiosity, I'm wondering if you know the difference between "quote" and "quotation." I remember my english teacher saying that people incorrectly interchange those terms.
