The Voice of a Child!

Yesterday I called my brother to get his new address and my niece answered the phone.  "Hello"?

I was surprised to hear a fragile little voice on the other side of the line, and said "is this Tyler?"

and she said, "Yes"

I said, "This is Uncle Richard in NY."

She got so excited and yelled to my sister in law......"IT'S UNCLE RICHARD AND HE'S CALLING ME FROM NEW YORK!"

It was so cute!  We talked for a few minutes and she told me all about her Halloween costume.  She is going to be a fairy princess, with wings, and a pink dress.  It was the first time I have spoken with her on the phone, she is going to be five on Christmas Eve.  I can't believe how fast time goes by....Besides the changing of the seasons I guess I didn't notice or pay attention to time that much before I moved to NYC.  The only season in AZ was hot and hotter so time seemed to slip away unnoticed.  But children grow so fast and develop so quickly I would imagine the passing of time around them to be more evident?  All I know for sure is hearing that little girls voice was just what I needed to raise my spirits and I can't wait to see her at Thanksgiving.

Bye For Now!

Aww...how cute...I have three nephews (3, 5 and almost 8) that I left behind in California and I feel so guilty for not being there to see them grow up. I got a pic from one of them the other day and I just lost it. I was crying...and crying :'(

They grow up too fast.

Anyhow, about your comment...You and Roy are such city boys lol...COWS DON'T HAVE BALLS!!!!!!

Bulls do!

i have 7 nieces and love it when the answer the phone, especially the younger ones. they always crack me up. i know what you mean about time slipping by and them growing up so fast. it seems like yesterday the oldest was born, but she is 12 now.

so are you enjoying your first fall in ny? i have a couple of friends who live in scottsdale and no matter when i visit, it seems like summer there.

I have 'played' mother for 20 years now babysitting and love every minute of it.  My favorite is when the kids start to communicate.  My brother gave me the best birthday present when, after putting my 18 month old nephew on the phone, said He never talks to people like that.  Apparently we are starting our own language...HA!  I know what you mean about the sound of their voice.  My Godchildren are the same...Just makes your whole life better.  And they are always so excited!

We'll be seeing them before you know it.  Unfortunately, before we see Cale and Tyler, we'll inevitably have to put up with the voice of the child wailing in the row in front of us on the plane.

I love children's voices--there so honest and pure!

Yeah the "big room" will be open when you're here--it's so cool to go into.  It's closed spring/summer because the bats have their babies in the cave during this time.

I have unfortunately always grinded my teeth, but now it's really starting to cause problems.  I'm a very tense person, but I keep it inside, and how I get it out is by grinding my teeth.
