To respond to evalinghchen's rather broad question: In London, the people say they speak English but it's spoken with this heavy, drunken sort of accent so you can't ever make out what they are saying, and it rains all the time.  On the plus side, due to free universal health care, most of the men are uncircumsized, which makes giving a handjob a lot easier on the hand.  (Or so I've heard.)  When you order a cup of coffee in London, they'll serve you a cup of instant coffee and act like it's perfectly normal.  Men in England like to join rugby teams and engage in homoerotic bonding rituals in pubs by doing gay things like taking off their clothes whilst drunk, and using the word "whilst" in conversation.

New York, by comparison, is located in America and is the center of the known universe.  Madonna may have a British accent at this point but she still prefers New York because other cities make her feel like a dork.  New York, unlike England, has a summer season lasting longer than one day, the food is edible, and the coffee is brewed from beans and served with bagels from silver boxes placed on the street corners.  (There are no bagels in London - instead they eat perverse dishes like Faggots In Gravy and Spotted Dick.) 

Oh, and NYC has the Statue of Liberty, Broadway, and was the titular "city" in the TV show Sex And The City.  And Parker Posey lives here - what more could you want?
