This morning the words and the tune of this little song started to drift through my mind and I began to sing it to myself - it has been a very long time since I have thought of it or sung it....and as I sang it to myself, the true message of them really impacted me...but read the words first:

Now thank we all our God, With hearts and hands and voices;
Who wondrous things hath done, In whom this world rejoices.
Who, from our mother's arms, Hath led us on our way,
With countless gifts of love, And still is ours today

It was as if God was reminding me that He has been right here with me since the day I was born, and He has lead me all the way and He will be with me today....I am so deeply grateful for this, and for the way in which the Holy Spirit brings to mind things that we have long forgotten and uses them to bless us.

It is so wonderful to have those reminders. God speaks to me through creation every day. Recently, it has been very foggy in the morning and I love looking out the window or driving to work and just seeing the beauty of everything that God has created. It is mind boggling to know and see how much detail God put into creation and then to know that He didn't die for a tree or a flower but for all of us, humans made in a way that no one person will ever be able to fully know the detail that God has designed us with.

I've been feeling God's presence more lately. With the news of Chirper's "death sentence" and my emotions sky rocketing, I've drawn very close to God who is able to heal when there is no way else except for a slim medical chance. I've become dependent (more than I realized) on Him to carry me - no matter what. I love Him the same way we love our parents (mother) even though we aren't always happy with our circumstances.

I'm new to your site, but I really enjoyed this one with the word to the hymn! It really blessed me today and God used you to speak something powerful to me. That He has continually been with me and delivered me from much destruction that could have taken my life. I've been reading in I Sam. 7 about Ebenezer (the stone) which Samuel placed to remind them that "The Lord has been with us thus far." This post has confirmed that for me!

I loved your sunset hymn as well.....so many of these words I too heard as a young girl! Thank you for reminding me of God's faithfulness!!
