    ...cause my script feels stale!

I'm sitting here desperately trying to come up with something witty to write about...and I can't.  It's just not glamorous and fabulous lately...well, I'm always glamorous and fabulous...but there is nothing of the same to report.    I think I am just feeling a bit of the gray weather today.

    Speaking of scripts...

So I've taken a part in an upcoming productions of "All 4 One."

Reader:  What the hell is that show, I've never heard of it.
PJ:  Um...it's about the Three Muskateers.  Here's the link ===>  LINK
Reader:  Really, I thought it might be about that acapella group from like the 90s...you know, with the fat white guy.
PJ:  No, it's actually a musical that had a very successful run in the UK.  This will be the first time it's performed in the U.S.
Reader:  Well cool...you'll have to make sure we come, by badgering us...you know, we'll even fly out to see you.
    PJ:  Smartass!

So anyway...we'll be starting rehearsals next week...I'm not at liberty to share my part yet, since the official list is not up...but let's just say...I'm excited.

    NYCA...

The New York Conservatory for the Arts is the group with whom I did "The Odd Couple" and with whom I will be performing in "All 4 One, " at UPAC (really big, cool opera house).  The main mission of NYCA is to train young people to sing, act and dance.  It's run by Randy & Doug and they do such a great job.  The kids learn a lot about performing, but they come out of NYCA with so much more.  The kids at NYCA are good kids!  They know how to work hard.  They learn to be responsible and take their commitments seriously.  If they do nothing with their talent after they leave, they've learned a lot of great life skills.

In addition to the show, I'm doing a little work with them to figure out how to reach potential candidates for their Musical Theatre Intensive Program (an alternative to college for those who wish to study the arts).  We had a good conversation last night...and I got to hear some of the music from the show.  It should be fun.

    And my favorite topic...

TV...Sometimes I feel guilty about how much I love TV...and then I get over it!    So, I've been catching up on back seasons of "Doctor Who" and "Torchwood," on Netflix.  (ooh lemme know if you're on Netflix and we can be friends...that sounds so gay...oh right, I am...then we can share reviews and ratings).

I really like both...they are VERY British...it's not something I can put my finger on...but there's something very different about their shows.  There's also a camp factor thrown in that they don't apologize for (check out the "Cyberwoman" episode of TW for what I mean).  It's like a modern day Star Trek...with all the hoakiness and none of the strings.

The best part of the first two seasons of "Doctor Who" is Billie Piper!!  She was a late 90s, early 2000 British Popstar.   Like Britney...only talented and not damaged!  Check out the song that made me love her...

Give her a break...it was the late 90s.

    Anyway time for the gym...

    Laterz...

I'm not on Netflix, but I've been asking around: do they have a "refer a friend" program?

I wish I watched more TV, but I don't.  And you'd think I'd be on Netflix since I'm a movies guy, yet I'm not.  Theater is always great, good luck with that!  I guess the closest thing I did to that is the Gay Men's Chorus of Houston.  Oh, and I LOVE Billie Piper's "She Wants You" which is basically the only song I know by her, but it's a classic to me.

I've never heard of those British shows you mentioned, will check them out. I'm a big fan of British sitcoms, like The Office,  Little Britain, Bromwell High. There was an Australian one too that I loved, Kath and Kim, which unfortunately was cancelled and didn't play in Canada for very long.

So, when IS the play going to open?  I think it'd be a fun first trip for the Champ to visit his Peej...

Let us know how long the run is so us New Yorkers can come see.
