| | NOTICE: If you're gonna call me during the week, please call me at home. On Friday nights and weekends, feel free to call my cell. Thank you.
Okay. So today I mostly felt fat and ugly and horrible. Finally caved in around five and ate something. (It's like I'm only a part-time anorexic. I'll starve myself for a day, then suddenly decide that my weight doesn't matter and just go back to eating normally. Weird.)
Some amusing things happened, though. Discovering that Travis finally beat someone at a dance-off (it was Eastham; he's game for anything). Watching Mary try to wrestle her Girl Scout cookies away from Matters. Hearing Matters finally praise one of his students ("SIMON THE MASTERRR!!"). Discussing books in English; books we haven't read in one or two years at least: Œdipus Rex, Antigone, Julius Caeser, Othello, all those tragic-hero-thingies. We're actually reading The Crucible...I think this all relates somehow... Anyway, Foy was talking about how after the play, you feel sorry for the tragic hero but you still think he had it coming. "In the case of Othello; when you strangle your wife with your bare hands--" "He used a pillow." "*cue awkward silence*" Yeah, that was fun. And during girls' choir, Ms. Stephens cursed out this kid in the hallway. "*pokes head out the door* Will you SHUT UP?! I'm trying to TEACH!" "I don't care!" "Well I care, so you can just shut your fucking--" "(total silence...)" There's only so much she can take, and secretly, I enjoy seeing her snap. I think she should be entitled to snap more often. *nods*
Still waiting for feedback on Transgression (and Orri: as a fellow poet, your opinions don't count. Sorry; I want the criticism of the masses...). - |
