DAYS UNTIL MATT: 25
Today I went to the mall with Thomas, where I bought #4 of "Tramps Like Us" and some black-and-white film. (I want--no, I NEED--to photograph him. A lot. I'm serious. He's going to be the model for my first studio work, I just know it.) Then we saw (along with about two-thirds of our little French/American group, it seems) "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Totally bizarre movie, but yet another amazing piece of work by Tim Burton, Danny Elfman and Johnny Depp. I love those guys. And we ran into Amy! I haven't seen her since graduation, so that was exciting. Thomas seems very happy in America. He's doing much better than I did.
Third entry in a series.
MONT SAINT MICHEL
The second day of the overnight Normandy trip, we went to see Le Mont Saint Michel, a huge monestery and cathedral. It used to be that when the tide rose, it would turn into an island. It's beautiful. Now there's a causeway there where tourists park, but when the tide reaches its highest point, they tell you you'd better get your car the hell out of there.
You can see it from the window of our hostel room! (Crappy hostel though it is, I'm liking the view.)

And here it is again from the bus.

Gratuitous sleeping Molly!

Here we are, up close and personal.

The rest of these are self-explanitory for the most part, I believe. Beautiful place.

The view is kind of icky, yes? We were told that there's quicksand out there. (The French word for "quicksand" sounds really cool, like the name of a rock band or something, but I can't remember what it is. Hm.)

These last few are from a small chapel within Le Mont Saint Michel, called the church of Saint Pierre.
