Everything is going super.  I finished the cabinet job for  the Sudan clinic.  It will be in Africa in a couple of weeks.  I hope the container arrives safely, and that the building will go up quickly.  We have so much to be grateful for here.  The clinic has no electricity so they are sending a generator.  They have to drill a well for their water.  If they need any supplies, it's an all day ordeal to go into a town several hours away and back, which may have or may not have what they need.  In the rainy season the grass grows over 6ft. tall, and it gets hard to travel.  In the dry season they burn off all the grass, but then it gets up to 120 degrees.  There are minor illnesses and accidents which are life threatening, and magor medical problems and complications are difficult at best. So even though our system is flawed, and there is a lot of greed in our society, the fact is we are soooo blessed.

Speaking of being blessed, We are enjoying our new Grand-daughter so much.  It's great that the Lord has allowed us to step into this next fase of our lives! I want to post a beautiful letter we received from some dear family friends:

CONGRATULATIONS Allen and Sherry!!!!

What a beautiful little granddaughter!!!  Isn't that just like the Lord!  You
gave your beautiful daughter to go to missions; now, as you can't see her
very often The Lord gives you another beautiful daughter!!!  A Granddaughter,...
one you can love and spend time with,... and her parents will do most of the
hard work of raising her!!!  What a blessing for the both of you!!

We are happy for all of you.  Please give our Congratulations to Luke and
Laura!

Isn't that an encouraging reply?

I agree that it was a sweet reply. I have to agree also that having a grand daughter or grandson is a very unique and wonderful blessing. I can not tell you how much I enjoy my babies. I don't know what I talked about before them. It was probably boring. I can't wait to see your grandbaby...I have heard from people who are not prejudiced that she is very, very beautiful. Congrats, I want to see her soon. They grow up so fast.

Oh, and I was listening to some of the c.d's Luke burned for me several months ago. Right smack in between Randy Travis and Ricky Skaggs was the song you wrote for your wedding (recorded with Becka B for L and L's day). Nice surprise to hear your sing and play.

Hey Al, I saw you on my footprints and thought I'd say hi. The kids usually call me Mr Gene, but I guess you can call me Gene. Grandchildren are an incredible gift from God. I only have grandaughters at the moment....4...they have become the light of my life. I've heard it said you grow a new heart with each grandchild. Arkanasas huh, My wife is a true Arkanasasian at heart. She was born in Little Rock. GO HOGS GO!!! We live in Memphis. Is this a mission trip you are going on to Africa? If so, what part. I've met a wonderful Christian girl in Capetown in So Africa. Her name is Jess. You can see her site from mine, it's Jessweird. She's an awesome young lady.Well, I need to go,if you reply, I won't see it for several days, cuz we're leaving to go on vacation this week. A much needed gettaway after the struggles we've had over the past several months as you might have read in my post. If you are leaving for a mission trip, I pray that God will bless this time for you and those who you are going to minister to. What's SOOOO amazing about those trips is you go thinking you are going to help and minister and you end up being ministered to and blessed in a way more than anything you could have done, but then thats how our Lord work isn't it. May God always richly bless you sir.

~Gene~
