see relatedMy office moved from one building to another building 3 miles west. Therefore, I thought it would take 5 minutes longer to get to work. However (I am teeming with a lot o' news), it turns out that Valley View Rd is the hypotenuse of a mypathtoproductivity right triangle, so instead of going from 12 miles to 15, my commute went from 12 miles to 9. Score!
It takes about the same amount of time, 30 minutes or so, but that's cool ain't it?
I wish I had more for you. You deserve more for sure (you are so cool!). But, that's all I got today.
What's your commute like?

46 minutes on a bicycle, I learned today!
9 miles, huh? Maybe it's doable on a bike now?
My commute is 9 miles just like yours. And also 30 minutes. That's too long for such a short distance. If everyone would wait until I got to work to start their drive time I could probably make it in 15 minutes. I'll let you know how that works out for me. Yay for lessening the driving miles. That saved you about a tablespoon of gas! And at $3.50ish a gallon that's awesome!
My commute? It's usually death-defying! The walk from the main part of the house to my desk can be booby trapped at times.
At least you don't have any additional time on the road. Bonus!
my commute is about to change, actually, i think.
currently it is fifteen minutes down macarthur at a mind-bending 35mph.
but soon i will be racing along i-35 north, and then west down 380 in denton to my new, out in the middle of nowhere possible job!
so from fifteen to thirty five minutes, but the positives outweigh the bad, so... score!
I don't know the miles, but it's about 20 minutes. It doesn't bother me. However, if the commute were any longer it probably WOULD bother me, so living in Boulder may be rough.

a painful descent down the stairs
combined with a calming pass by the coffee maker
2 minutes - max unless i need a potty break on the way
What a small world. My office is also on Valley View.
1 or two minutes to get from couch to bed........use to be longer.....but taking off glasses instead of contacts has saved a whole minute. i live an exciting life.
easy
RIght now my commute is about 8 miles or 20 minutes... in the fall it will be nada unless I find another job (our school is closing)
From upstairs (bedroom) to downstairs (office). There are 15 stairsteps involved as well as the whole crossing the rooms thing. I'm guessing it takes me about 45 to 60 seconds....unless the dogs get in the way or have to be chased down (new puppy LOVES to grab things she isn't supposed to have and then run like hell away from me...usually to the backyard and someplace muddy or whatever). I don't drink coffee in the a.m. ('cept sometimes at church), so I don't even have that little diversion. Although...I HAVE started trying to be a "better wife" and all...so I 'been making the coffee for the husband so it's ready when he gets up. REALLY, though...it is self defense. He is a BEAR until he has had a cup or two. And it does work in my favor cuz he thinks I'm being nice and all. HA!
About 30 minutes on street roads....I won't use freeways on my way to work....too variable.
It appears that many of your xanganum are doing the telecommute.
Me? If I dont' hit the ghost slowdown at PostOak and 35, it takes about 20 minutes. Such a better commute that the 37 mile/ 1 hour haul I pulled to Godland, er, Carland, uh, Garland for 3 and a half years.

- DIXIE - In The Land Of Gaaaarrrrrr! 1 hour commute - blech, gald you don't haf to do that anymore. Is a one hour commute a sin? I wish it was sin Dixie, away, away. Isn't it amazing how that never gets old??
@spiritwick - I'm off the freeways now and, you're right, it is less variable. It is always 30 minutes and not 25 to 55 minutes like it was.
@RubyRob - I love it when the sniper brings me coffee! We kinda split the go get coffee duties. With or without coffee I am always charming & pleasant...I think....I dunno, I haven't gone a morning without a cup in years.
@settlers_fan - Yikes! I'm sure you'll do well. I'm sure of it.
