| | The Calm Before the Storm?Right outside my office window, the sky is turning grey, the tree branches are beginning to sway, and the thunder is starting to roll. I have no doubt that in a few minutes I will experience a full-on South Louisiana Rain. In Colorado, we would refer to it as a torrential downpour and start filling sandbags.
The torrential downpour know as "Start-up Week" in campus ministry vernacular is about to start as well. Tomorrow night we will feed the entire UL football team. Friday and Saturday we will move students into the dorms. Saturday night we will host a reception for international students. Sunday: Welcome BBQ on campus.
Then on Monday, classes start and "Start-up Week" really begins: two or three events a day for the rest of the week.
The hope, the prayer, the expectation . . . is that all of these events and opportunities for connections will result in a torrential downpour of new students who will this begin journey we are on following Jesus.
