Different movie. Amazing, amazing effects. Incredibly boring. Except for HAL9000. "Stop." "My mind is going Dave." "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that." I'm sure the novel explains the obelisks more. And why HAL went crazy. Still, just very different. I give it a 'C', because it was so incredibly boring at times. Especially compared to National Treasure, which I also watched tonight. Yay for convincing parents to buy movies for you.

Maybe I'll get on IM for the first time in a long time this weekend.

How was National Treasure? I haven't seen it, but my parents have, and they said it wasn't all that great.

I like National Treasure alot. B+, at least. Great action, comic relief, and pacing. It's kinda like a Indiana Jones movie.

Cons:
Nick Cage's acting (he's a chameleon. Keeps changing his personality)
Fast and loose with historical facts (such as with the Freemasons)

Critics consensus (from rottentomatoes.com):

National Treasure is no treasure, but it's a fun ride for those who can forgive its highly improbable plot.
