We were so excited to read about the lunar eclipse yesterday. The one thing that we didn't count on was cloud cover. We could not find the moon at all last night, to many clouds in the way. It cleared off "AFTER" the eclipse and then clouded up again. It has been snowing since very early this morning. We have gotten quite a few inches already. Just when it lightens up and looks like it will clear off, it starts again. Today is ice skating day and since it is only a mile or so away, we will head over there. The only thing is I am sure that it will be really cold in the rink. It is open on one side and it can get down below 10 on a snowy/cloudy day.
DD started 4th grade this past week in all her subjects except math. We are still finishing up 3rd grade math. That is one great thing about homeschooling, you don't have to wait on everyone else. We have also decided to change our schedule so that she now has Friday as a free day. So, she will school Mon-Thurs and have a 3 day weekend.
DD has been taking an art class at one of the local museums and seems to really enjoy it. We have done piano lessons (2 years) and started here but couldn't find a teacher that we liked, she has had sewing lessons and is keeping that up, but we haven't really found an interest that works well with our schedule. She loves to sing and sings at church but the only voice teacher that we could find wanted $50 per lesson. Way to rich for our blood. So, anyway, I am hoping to find something that she is interested in that she can pursue on that day off. When the weather gets better, we might get her a few more art supplies and see if she would like to sketch/paint outside. We live in a very artsy area with beautiful weather. There are many artists around town always painting and sketching.
