He Sent Me An Angel
in My Dreams
JEHOVAH SENT ME AN ANGEL IN MY DREAMS

He Sent Me An Angel
in My Dreams

The desk was large and it was wood
a light tan sort of beige
within a clearing of shaven grass
with trees around the edge

There was a river flowing too
along my side of glance
to my right and that is where
the man came to a stance

He stood by me and looked refined
with a linen suit so light
he was alone, at least at first
when he came into my sight

With pen in hand  and a paper pad
I listened to his voice
He wasn't very friendly though
as if he had no choice

For he was sent as messenger
and looked just like a man
He had no wings or special marks
but just a hint of tan

I agreed to write his words
and promised that I'd pen
an accurate recording of
the things that I must send

He told me that Jehovah God
had sent him just to me
to be a prophet for the world
and would I please agree

To write and share and deliver to
the people with great thirst
especially those who belong to him
His people - I'd reach first

I soon agreed to all his terms
of all that he did ask
to be a spokesman for my God
A large momentous task

I understood each word he said
when first he shared with me
the hidden secrets that were sealed
in Daniel's prophecy

But when I went to write them down
I could not write a thing
I struggled with a memory loss
my mind began to sting

I took so long in trying
that the angel got to sigh
growing anxious with each moment
I felt like I might cry

And then another angel showed
upon this vision scene
He would not look upon me
and sullen - so he seemed

The second angel asked him
why I was very slow
what was he waiting for
they really had to go

In final desperation
I wrote just one word down
the only thing that came to mind
was "Daniel" - so I found

that when I looked up at them
the two men had a smile
the First one said, "she's got it"
though it took her quite awhile

Got it ? - I stutered to myself
as I watched them walk away
into the green dark forest
as they faded into grey

Immediately I woken
and jumped from my warm bed
and ran down to the library
to find what he had said

I grabbed the Holy Bible
and fluttered through the book
and ended up at Daniel
where I took a deeper look

This story doesn't end here
it's been some years since then
and every day is clearer
with every page I pen

The thoughts and inspiration
keep me up all night
The miracles keep happening
and everything seems right

And so there'll be more pages
more study and more thought
more reasoning from the scriptures
more inspiration taught

I keep Jehovah happy
by what I do and say
I might just share more with you
as I promised on that day

NO ONE Can See God
and Yet Live.

ENERGY SEE GOD 77
NO ONE Can See God
and Yet Live.

The Bible Makes it very clear that No Human has ever seen God.
Evidently, because of the Great Energy that is part of Jehovah God's
makeup - the human race is too frail to withstand even Looking at God's
Glorius presence.  Mortal man is made of flesh and bone and cannot
even bear to be in the Direct presence of God without causing his
immediate death.  We know that many people in Japan - were vaporized
into thin air - when exposed to the energy force - of a nuclear explosion.
Even within miles of the Atomic bombing of  Hiroshima - their bodies
disintegrated - leaving only a shadow of them on a nearby wall.
The atom bombs of mere man - are nothiing in comparison to the Great
Energy Source that made the entire universe - Jehovah God.

"Jehovah God is THE ONE Energy source
of all the universe."
-THE UNKNOWABLE GOD
by: JOSEPH PARKER—1830-1902

The Bible puts it this way -

"GOD continued, "But you may NOT see my face.
No one can see me and live."
(Exodus 33:20)(MSG)-BibleGateway

"And Jehovah said unto Moses....
Thou canst not see my face;
for man shall not see me and live."
(Exodus 33:17,20)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"God...who alone is immortal and who lives
in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen
or can see."
(1Timothy 6:15,16)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"No man has ever seen God.
But Christ has made God known to us."
(John 1:18)(NLV)-BibleGateway

Jesus said -"And the Father who sent me
has himself testified concerning me.
You have never heard his voice
nor seen his form."
(John 7:37)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Through Christ you have come to trust in God.
And because God raised Christ from the dead
and gave him great glory, your faith and hope can be
placed confidently in God. You love him even though
you have never seen him."
(1Peter 1:21,8)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"And Jehovah saith unto Moses.....
`Thou art unable to see My face,
for man doth NOT see Me, and Live.' "
(Exodus 33:17,20)(YLT)-BibleGateway

"No one has seen God at any time."
(1John 4:12) (NASB) -BibleGateway

"God has exemption from every kind of death
and lives in unapproachable light,
Whom no man has ever seen or can see."
(1Timothy 6:16)(AMP)-BibleGateway

Bible Scholars Agree -
That No Human Can See God

"NO MAN...can see God's face and live;
not because of moral disability,
but because of physical inability.
The body is not strong enough to bear
the sight or vision of God.
This much is certain—that on earth,
no man, however holy, can ever see God's face,
and yet live."
-A View of God's Glory
by  C. H. SPURGEON (1834-1892)

Jehovah God -- Mind Boggling
A Tremendous "Energy" Source

"...the mind of man can never conceive an idea
of the incomprehensible Jehovah...subtler than the
secret power of electricity; infinitely above the
most rarified forms of matter..."
-A View of God's Glory
by C. H. SPURGEON (1834-1892)

"it's quite clear that God is more than likely
an extremely high frequency spectra of ENERGY,
well hidden, all powerful, able to make his
creation and exist amongst it. God could easily
have used a bit of his own ENERGY to make
the universe."
-Proof God is a High Frequency Spectra of Energy
   by John P. Boatwright

"Many forms of energy cannot be seen.
Since God is energy, and we know that everything
that exists is made from energy...we see that God
took from the pool of existing energy, which was HIM,
and created everything there is."
-The Center for Unhindered Living
"God" is the Sum Total of Universal Energy
  by Judie C. Rall

"Jehovah God...filling all space like the light,
yet leaving room for all His creatures;
an Immeasurable God..."
-THE UNKNOWABLE GOD
by: JOSEPH PARKER—1830-1902

"The bible also gives some similar confirmations
to this basic theme of God being an extremely high
frequency spectra of ENERGY: God said he's a consuming
fire and ENERGY can easily consume. For instance,
see A-bombs releasing ENERGY and consuming all the
stuff in their path. Also, God said "let there be light"
at the start of the universe.  Light is ENERGY.
God could easily have used a bit of his own ENERGY
to make the universe."
--Proof God is a High Frequency Spectra of Energy
   by John P. Boatwright

"The invisibleness of Jehovah God is not a scientific
discovery; it is a biblical revelation; it is a part
of the Bible. "No man hath seen God at any time"
(John 1:18)-"No man can see God and live" (Ex. 33:20)."
-THE UNKNOWABLE GOD
by: JOSEPH PARKER—1830-1902

"What is light?  It's energy.
Everything that exists in the universe is made up
of energy. There is a scientific law that states
that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it simply
changes form.  God, who is all energy, in the beginning
took from his own energy to make everything that exists."
-The Center for Unhindered Living
"God" is the Sum Total of Universal Energy
  by Judie C. Rall

"You have seen night wrapped in her sable mantle
woven with gems and stars—there they shine as
ornaments worked by the needle of God in that
brilliant piece of tapestry which is spread over
our heads...They are nothing, but just a tiny
portion of the skirts of God that drag in the dust.
But...man cannot conceive...that all the stars and
constellations of stars might be put together and
threaded into a string—made into a bracelet for the
arm, or a ring for the finger of Jehovah."
-A View of God's Glory
by C. H. SPURGEON (1834-1892)

"Jehovah God is THE ONE Energy source
of ALL the universe."
-THE UNKNOWABLE GOD
by: JOSEPH PARKER—1830-1902

"That energy is God's energy..."
(Philippians 2:13) (MSG)-BibleGateway

".... the..... ENERGY  that God supplies."
(1Peter 4:11) (NLT)-BibleGateway

"...Jehovah, is become glorious in POWER..."
(Exodus 15:6) (Darby)-BibleGateway

"...Jehovah... in thy hand there is POWER and might,
and none can withstand thee."
(2Chronicles 20:6)(Darby)-BibleGateway

Did Jehovah become a baby
in Mary's Womb ?

JEHOVAH COULD NEVER BE CONTAINED IN A WOMB

Logical reasoning will make us realize that The incomprehensible
Jehovah - The Source of All Energy - could never enter into the
womb of any human woman.  If we cannot look upon Jehovah
without dying -  then certainly - neither could any woman contain
Him within her womb.   No Mortal Woman could ever contain
the power and energy of God inside her body - if Moses, himself,
could not even see the full glory of God without disaster upon him.

So then, who was placed within the womb of Mary?

Jehovah placed His Only Begotten Son - in the womb of the
Virgin.  Just like the Bible said he did.

Jesus Was Chosen For This Mission

"Even before Jesus was born he was destined to this
mission. In fact his name, Jesus, gives his mission away,
for it means Jehovah saves, or Jehovah's salvation.
God prepared a perfect plan with a perfect sacrifice
for the sins of man: the body of Jesus. Knowing that he
would save the world through the body and blood of his
son, God called him Jesus, Jehovah's salvation."
-Jesus Claimed to Be Man's Answer;
Chapter 2; by Rod MacArthur
ISBN 0-938855-19-0
MacArthur Publishers, Inc.

"The Father lovingly provided His only-begotten Son.
Consider the logic of God's Plan... Father Adam,
was perfect and then sinned. The penalty of death
passed upon him and the human race. Deliverance from
death required the payment of a corresponding price,
the death of a perfect man.  The perfect man Jesus died
for Adam's sin, taking his place in death, thereby
redeeming Adam and all his offspring--the human race-
from death."
-The Foundation of God's Plan
A Ransom For All
Chicago Bible Students

Other Considerations

The Bible also says that Jehovah cannot die, and yet Jesus could
and did.

Also - would the Almighty God, Jehovah - Leave the universe
without HIS Divine Direction and  Leadership - for nine months
while he grew within Mary's womb ?

Something Else to Consider.

Equal Value -- or -- Overkill  ??

"The Ransom"

God's laws require perfect equality.   "Even for Even"
"Like for Like" --  "Same for Same"

The Scales of Justice - require equal for equal --
Tooth for Tooth  --  Eye for Eye

Jesus bought back what Adam Lost - A perfect Human Life.

Adam was not a God - so it did not require "A God"
to buy back what Adam Lost.

Jesus - The "LAST" Adam

"The Holy Writings say,
'The first man, Adam, became a living soul.'
But the last Adam -Christ-is a life-giving Spirit."
(1Corinthians 15:45)(NLV)-BibleGateway

"The first man was named Adam,
and the Scriptures tell us that he was a living person.
But Jesus, who may be called the last Adam,
is a life-giving spirit."
(1Corinthians 15:45)(CEV)-BibleGateway

"Adam was NOT created to die.
Endless life was before him.
When he rebelled, he pulled the plug on himself.
But not just himself, also all his offspring….
No longer would anyone look forward to endless life,
now their certain destiny was old age and death.
Adam sold them into the slavery of sin and death.
And there they must stay, unless someone can buy
them back. A perfect man sold them into slavery,
another perfect man will be needed as the repurchase
price. A faithful perfect man, as Jesus proved to be."
-The First and The Last Adam
   by Tom Tombaugh

Not TOO Much - and - Not TOO Little

"When you free a kidnapped victim, the price you pay
is called the ransom. The ransom price paid to release
all of us from bondage to sin and death is a perfect
human life, exactly corresponding to the perfect human
life that Adam threw away. Offering his own perfect life,
Jesus bought back what Adam lost.  Jesus’ life is the
exact price required, thus ransom carries the sense of
completely covering - not too much and not too little."
-The First and The Last Adam
   by Tom Tombaugh

Perfect Balance -  Perfect Justice

"When it comes to righting the greatest wrong that was
ever done - God plays by the same rules he made for us:
an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a soul for a
soul…..in this case, a perfect soul for a perfect soul.
(Deut 19:21) Thus, the “legal” framework is in place to
restore everlasting life on earth to those who desire it."
-The First and The Last Adam
   by Tom Tombaugh

".....you must give life for life
—eye for eye, tooth for tooth,
hand for hand, foot for foot,
burn for burn, wound for wound,
bruise for bruise."
(Exodus 21:22)(MSG)-BibleGateway

".....fracture for fracture, eye for eye,
tooth for tooth.....And no double standards:
the same rule goes for foreigners and natives.
I am God, your God."
(Leviticus 24:20,22)(MSG)-BibleGateway

"And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,
Command the children of Israel....
life for life...eye for eye, tooth for tooth
....Ye shall have one manner of law....
for I am Jehovah your God."
(Leviticus 24:1,2,18,20,22)(ASV)-BibleGateway

Perfect Justice - Perfect Balance

RANSOM EQUAL VALUE 2

God's Own Laws Require Equal Value

"...you are to take life for life,
eye for eye, tooth for tooth,
hand for hand, foot for foot..."
(Exodus 21:23,24)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Sin requires a payment equal in value to the offense.
Jesus was human, so his blood provided equal value to
man's transgressions; and since Jesus was without sin,
he could satisfy all demands."
-Jesus Claimed to Be Man's Answer;
Chapter 2; by Rod MacArthur
ISBN 0-938855-19-0
MacArthur Publishers, Inc.

Adam was NOT a  God-man.
The equal of his perfect Life that he lost -
Was another Perfect Life. - Not a God-man.

Think About it.

The Bible describes this "Even" Exchange
of the ONE Man - for the One Man.

"Therefore, just as sin entered the world
through one man, and death through sin,
and in this way death came to all men...
...and the gift that came by the grace
of the one man, Jesus Christ."
(Romans 5:12,15)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"For if, by the trespass of the one man,
death reigned through that one man,
how much more will those who receive...
...the gift of life through
the one man, Jesus Christ."
(Romans 5:17)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"For just as through the disobedience
of the one man the many were made sinners,
so also through the obedience of the one man
the many will be made righteous."
(Romans 5:19)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"For since death came through a man,
the resurrection of the dead comes also
through a man.  For as in Adam all die,
so in Christ all will be made alive."
(1Corinthians 15:21-22)(NIV)-BibleGateway

Perfect Balance -  Perfect Justice

"The RANSOM is the means by which God could justly
release Adam and all mankind from the death sentence
of Eden. The word RANSOM is translated from the Greek
word "Antilutron," meaning "an equivalent, corresponding
price."  This concept of the corresponding price is a
fixed law of God's universe! It is expressed in Israel's
Law Covenant: "You shall give LIFE for LIFE, eye for eye,
tooth for tooth." Exodus 21:23-24"
-The Foundation of God's Plan
A Ransom For All
Chicago Bible Students

Out - of - Balance

A GOD-MAN
Would Not Satisfy God's Law
it would be an "Over-Kill"

RANSOM GOD MAN
Jesus - NOT a  God-man
But a  Mediator  between  God and  Mankind -
the  "Ransom"

"For there is one God - and one mediator
between God and men,
- ' the man' Christ Jesus,
who gave himself as a ransom for all..."
(1Timothy 2:5,6)

It Was NOT Jehovah Who Died -
But Rather - HIS Son

"But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities;
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.
.....and Jehovah hath laid on him
the iniquity of us all.
  Yet it pleased Jehovah
to bruise him; he hath put him to grief:
when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin."
(Isaiah 53:5,6,10)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him;
he hath subjected him to suffering.......
by his knowledge shall my righteous servant
instruct many in righteousness; and *he* shall
bear their iniquities. because he hath poured out
his soul unto death, and was reckoned with the
transgressors; and he bore the sin of many,
and made intercession for the transgressors."
(Isaiah 53:10-12)(Darby)-BibleGateway

"God sacrificed Jesus
on the altar of the world
to clear that world of sin."
(Romans 3:25)(MSG)-BibleGateway

"Christ... hath given himself for us
as an offering and a sacrifice to God."
(Ephesians 5:2)(KJ21)-BibleGateway

"Christ...gave himself up for us,
a slain offering and sacrifice to God..."
(Ephesians 5:2)(AMP)-BibleGateway

"...Christ gave himself  'to'  God
as the sacrifice.
..
That is why he is the middle man
of a new agreement.
He died and paid for the wrong things
that were done under the first agreement... "
(Hebrews 9:14,15)(MSG) -BibleGateway

Christ - "The High Priest"

"In the days of His flesh, Jesus offered up prayers
and supplications, with loud cries and tears,
to Him Who was able to save Him from death,
and He was heard for His godly fear.
Although He was a Son, He learned obedience
through what He suffered; and after being made perfect
he became the source of eternal salvation
to all who obey Him,  being designated by God
as a high priest after the order of Melchizedek."
(Heb 5:7-10)(KJ21)-BibleGateway

"Suffering made Jesus perfect....
This is because God chose him
to be a high priest like Melchizedek."
(Hebrews 5:9,10)(CEV)-BibleGateway

"During the time Jesus lived on earth,
He prayed and asked God with loud cries and tears.
In God's plan He was to be a Religious Leader
Who made the way for man to go to God.
He was like Melchizedek."
(Hebrews 5:7,10)(NLV)-BibleGateway

"Jesus is Man's High Priest. The need for a faithful
high priest is obvious.  Man's benefit is great.
Knowing that Jesus always serves as a faithful high
priest to present appeasement to God and to intercede
for us.   Jesus is our mediator."
-Jesus Claimed to Be Man's Answer;
Chapter 2; by Rod MacArthur
ISBN 0-938855-19-0
MacArthur Publishers, Inc

"God’s justice is perfect. His plan of atonement
by the ransoming work of Jesus is based upon perfect
justice. Scripture after Scripture repeatedly affirm
that atonement was secured by “the man Christ Jesus”
and his shed blood. NO Scripture proposes Christ’s
divinity to be the basis of atonement."
-The Atonement Between God and Man

"He who did not spare His own Son,
but gave him up for us all...."
(Romans 8:32)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"...HE gave His only begotten son..."
(John 3:16)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"God loved the people of this world so much
that HE gave his only son......."
(John 3:16)(CEV)-BibleGateway

"For Christ entered...into heaven itself,
now to appear before the face of God for us:
...to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself."
(Hebrews 9:24,26)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"....Christ Jesus ....
--who is at the right hand of God,
who indeed is interceding for us."
(Romans 8:34)(ESV)-BibleGateway

".....Christ died and was raised to life,
and now he is at God's right side,
speaking to him for us. "
(Romans 8:34)(CEV)-BibleGateway

"Jesus Christ died.
Yes, he was raised from death.
He is at the right side of God.
And he talks 'to' God for us. "
(Romans 8:34)(WE)-BibleGateway

"In the past - God overlooked such ignorance,
but now he commands all people everywhere
to repent. - For he (God) has set a day
when he will judge the world with justice
by the man he has appointed.
He has given proof of this to all men
by raising him from the dead."
(Acts 17:30,31)(NIV)-BibleGateway

The Entire Earth

ENTIRE EARTH

The Entire Earth

The Entire Earth

When Jesus was describing his return to the earth
to his Apostles, he described a time of trouble
that would occur everywhere upon the earth.

Jesus put it this way -

"For it will come upon all who live
upon the face of the entire earth."
(Luke 21:35)(AMP)-BibleGateway

No one on earth would miss this most momentous event.
It will be a theatrical spectacle; that will never be forgotten.

"...a spectacle...no one will ever forget."
(Jeremiah 20:11)(MSG)-BibleGateway

A Theatrical Spectacle

What will make this time so special ?

Why will it be a spectacle that mankind will
never forget ?

Christ's return is described in both the
Hebrew Scriptures (old testament) and also in
The Christian Greek Scriptures (New Testament).
The varied descriptions are very colorful and
detailed.  Although it is a time of joy for those
who have been patiently waiting for his return,
it will also be a "Fearful" expression of God's
Great Power and Glory.

Great Power and Glory.

There will be no doubt in anyone's mind -
When Christ Returns - that he is being sent
by a Power that is Much Greater than anything
anyone on earth has ever seen before.

Indeed it will be a Theatrical Spectacle
that mankind will never forget.

"...a spectacle...no one will ever forget."
(Jeremiah 20:11)(MSG)-BibleGateway

"...This will happen when the Lord Jesus
is revealed from heaven in blazing fire
with his powerful angels.
He will punish those who do NOT KNOW God
and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
They will be punished with everlasting destruction
and shut out from the presence of the Lord
and from the majesty of his power
on the day he comes to be glorified."
(2Thessalonians 1:7-10)(NIV)-BibleGateway

Did You see the word "Punish" in the scripture above ?

But you were taught that Jesus was only returning to take
all Christians to heaven.  And it's true that a Little Flock of
Faithful followers join Christ to share in His Kingdom Rulership.
But that is only a partial glimpse of Christ's Great Purpose.

The "Entire" Picture

Most people don't want to hear about the Entire Picture of
what Christ said he would do when he returned to the earth.
But, ignoring all the aspects of his promises - will not stop them
from happening.  For every letter of the prophecies in the Bible
about Christ - will be fulfilled.  God does not Lie, and Jesus
always obeys his Father, Jehovah God.

Jehovah's Words Will Be Fulfilled

How Do We Know ?

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please..."
(Isaiah 55:8,9,11)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"...I am God, and there is none like me.
I make known the end from the beginning,
from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say: My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please."
(Isaiah 46:9,10)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"That's how it is with my words.
They don't return to me without doing everything
I send them to do."
(Isaiah 55:11)(CEV)-BibleGateway

"I alone am God! There are no other gods;
no one is like me. Think about what happened
many years ago. From the very beginning,
I told what would happen - long before it took place.
I kept my word."
(Isaiah 46:9,10)(NLV)-BibleGateway

"So My Word which goes from My mouth
will not return to Me empty.
It will do what I want it to do,
and will carry out My plan well."
(Isaiah 55:11)(NLV)-BibleGateway

"....an affirmation of Jehovah....
So is My word that goeth out of My mouth,
It turneth not back unto Me empty,
But hath done that which I desired..."
(Isaiah 55:8,11)(YLT)-BibleGateway

"The words I speak are like that.
They will not return to me
without producing results.
They will accomplish what I want them to.
They will do exactly what I sent them to do."
(Isaiah 55:11)(NIRV)-BibleGateway

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways,
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall do
that which I please, and it shall accomplish that
for which I send it."
(Isaiah 55:8,9,11)(Darby)-BibleGateway

"...I am God, and there is none like me.
Only I can tell you the future
before it even happens.
Everything I plan will come to pass,
for I do whatever I wish."
(Isaiah 46:9,10)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
(Isaiah 55:11)(NIVUK)-BibleGateway

The Entire Earth Will Know

The Entire Earth will know that it is Jehovah God,
who is sending his son back to the earth - at
the time that it happens.  There will be no doubt
in anyone's mind that Jehovah is the Great Power
behind Jesus Christ's Judgment.

How will the entire earth know that Jehovah
is the Driving Force behind Christ ?

Not only by the preaching work of Jehovah's people,
but also by the very Powerful Theatrical display at Christ's return,
will mankind be well aware that Christ has been sent by the
Mighty Acts of the God, Jehovah.

CHRIST SENT BY JEHOVAH

"...for they shall cry unto Jehovah
because of oppressors,
and he will send them a saviour,
and a defender, and he will deliver them."
(Isaiah 19:20)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"...At the time that God
has already decided,
he will send Jesus Christ
back again."
(1Timothy 6:15)(CEV)-BibleGateway

JESUS  DECLARED :
"I have come in My Father's name
and with His power..."
(John 5:43)(AMP)-BibleGateway

"I will come with the mighty acts
of the Lord Jehovah..."
(Psalm 71:16)(ASV)-BibleGateway

And What are the Mighty Acts of the Lord Jehovah ?

A Fearful Time of Judgment

How will we know that it is Jehovah God
who is behind Christ's Return?

There will Be NO Doubt.

Jehovah God has made it clear in His Word, The Bible
that all mankind - Everyone on the Face of the Entire Earth,
will know that it is "JEHOVAH" God who has sent his son
for Judgment..  There will be NO doubt.

"therefore, as I live,
saith the Lord Jehovah...
I will make myself known among them,
when I shall judge thee. "
(Ezekiel 35:11)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"Therefore, behold, I will cause them to know,
this once will I cause them to know my hand
and my might; and they shall know that
my name is Jehovah."
(Jeremiah 16:21)(ASV)-BibleGateway

The scriptures are very clear that Jehovah God,
is very angry.  He has been holding his anger back
for a very long time.  He has been putting up with
human atrocities beyond what we personally know of.

When Jehovah sends his Son - Jehovah is going to
"Let Loose" upon mankind, in a way that there will
be no doubt, who is behind Jesus Christ - with a
"Blast" of fury from his nostrils - while his son
is executing all those who refused to "KNOW" Jehovah
God.

Christ will destroy all those who have rejected
his Father, Jehovah God.  He will also destroy
evildoers that have ruined the earth.  All of God's
enemies will be completely destroyed by God's
Warrior-King, Jesus Christ.

"And my anger will certainly come to its finish
and I will appease my rage on them and comfort myself;
and they will have to know that I myself, Jehovah,
have spoken in my insistence on exclusive devotion,
when I bring my rage to its finish upon them."
(Ezekiel 5:13)(NWT)

"...This will happen when the Lord Jesus
is revealed from heaven in blazing fire
with his powerful angels.
He will punish those who do NOT KNOW God
and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
They will be punished with everlasting destruction
and shut out from the presence of the Lord
and from the majesty of his power
on the day he comes to be glorified."
(2Thessalonians 1:7-10)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"...And you will destroy all who have caused
destruction on the earth."
(Revelation 11:18)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"The harvest is the end of the age,
and the harvesters are angels.
The Son of Man will send out his angels,
and they will "WEED OUT"  of his kingdom
everything that causes sin and all who do evil.
"
(Matthew 13:36-41) (NIV) -BibleGateway

"As the "WEEDS" are pulled up
and burned in the fire,
so it will be at the end of the age."
(Matthew 13:14)(NIV)-BibleGateway

Jesus said - "...The decisive issue is
whether they obey  my Father in heaven."
(Matthew 7:21)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"And they shall know that I am Jehovah:
I have not said in vain
that I would do this evil unto them."
(Ezekiel 6:10)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And my anger will certainly come to its finish
and I will appease my rage on them and comfort myself;
and they will have to know that I myself, Jehovah,
have spoken in my insistence on exclusive devotion,
when I bring my rage to its finish upon them."
(Ezekiel 5:13)(NWT)

"And mine eye shall not spare thee,
neither will I have pity;
but I will bring thy ways upon thee,
and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee:
and ye shall know - that I am Jehovah."
(Ezekiel 7:4)(ASV)-BibleGateway

The Entire Earth - From One End to the Other

These prophecies about Christ's Return are not vague abstract
pictures of former times or former events - for the Bible is quite
clear - that Destruction of God's enemies will be clear from one
end of the earth to the other end of the earth.

It will be A "selective" global destruction at the hands of Jehovah God's Son.

"Jehovah will ROAR from on high,
and utter his voice from his holy habitation;
he will Mighty Roar...he will give a SHOUT....
against all the inhabitants of the earth.
A noise shall come even to the end of the earth;
for Jehovah hath a controversy with the nations;
he will enter into judgment with ALL FLESH:

as for the wicked, he will give them to the sword, saith Jehovah.
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts,
Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation,
and a great tempest shall be raised up from the
uttermost parts of the earth. And the slain of
Jehovah shall be at that day from one end of the
earth even unto the other end of the earth:
they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried;
they shall be dung upon the face of the ground."
(Jeremiah 25:30-33)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"...This will happen when the Lord Jesus
is revealed from heaven in blazing fire
with his powerful angels.
He will punish those who do NOT know God
and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.
They will be punished with everlasting destruction
and shut out from the presence of the Lord
and from the majesty of his power
on the day he comes to be glorified."
(2Thessalonians 1:7-10)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"They that strive with Jehovah
shall be broken to pieces;
Against them will he thunder in heaven:
Jehovah will judge the ends of the earth;
And he will give strength unto "HIS KING",
And exalt the horn of  "HIS ANOINTED". "
(1Samuel 2:10)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"In the past God overlooked such ignorance,
but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice
by the man he has appointed.
He has given proof of this to all men
by raising him from the dead."
(Acts 17:30,31)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Oh worship Jehovah...Tremble before him,
all the earth. For he cometh to judge the earth:
He will judge the world with righteousness..."
(Psalm 96:9,13)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"It is called the "Day of Jehovah" because,
though Christ, with royal title and power,
will be present as Jehovah's representative,
taking charge of all the affairs during this day
of trouble, it is more as the General of Jehovah,
subduing all things, than as the Prince of Peace,
blessing all."
-The Divine Plan of the THE Ages
Study XV [A307]; The Day of Jehovah

Jesus - "....he will dash them to pieces like pottery'
just as I have received authority from my Father...."
(Revelation 2:27,28) (NIV)-BibleGateway

"For that day is a day of the Lord, Jehovah of hosts,
a day of vengeance,
that he may avenge him of his adversaries......."
(Jeremiah 46:1,10)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"For these are days of vengeance,

that all things which are written may be fulfilled......

. And then shall they see the Son of man (Jesus)
coming in a cloud with power and great glory.......

...  for so shall it come upon all them
that dwell on the face of all the earth..."
(Luke 21:22,25,)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"Before there comes upon you people
the burning anger of Jehovah,
before there comes upon you the day of Jehovah's anger,
seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth . . .
Seek righteousness, seek meekness.
Probably you may be concealed
in the day of Jehovah's anger."
(Zephaniah 2:2, 3) (ASV)

Everlasting Life
Where Will it Be ?

EVERLASTING LIFE WHERE WILL IT BE

The Bible holds out the reward of Everlasting Life to
those who earn it -  But where will that Everlasting Life
Be ?

TWO  RESURRECTIONS

TWO RESURRECTIONS HEAVENLY AND EARTHLY

The Bible speaks of two resurrections,
one into a spiritual life with Jesus - to rule
over the earth.

The other is a physical resurrection to
physical body - to live forever on a paradise
earth.

AN EARTLY RESURRECTION UPON A PARADISE EARTH
"Happy are the meek and mild
since they will inherit the earth."
(Matthew 5:5)

"But the meek in the end
shall inherit the earth
and shall delight themselves
in the abundance of peace.
Then the consistently righteous
shall inherit the earth
and dwell upon it forever."
(Psalm 37:11,29)(AMP)-BibleGateway

"Don't be surprised!
The time will come  when all of the dead
will hear the voice of the Son of Man,
and they will come out of their graves. "
(John 5:28) (CEV) -BibleGateway

"Jesus gave them this answer:
' I tell you the truth,
the Son can do nothing by himself;
he can do only
what he sees his Father doing...
For just as the Father raises the dead
and gives them life,
even so the Son gives life
to whom he is pleased to give it
. ' "
(John 5:19,21)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"...just as I have received authority
from my Father."
(Revelation 2:28) (NIV)-BibleGateway

"...the breath of life from God came into them,
and they stood on their feet;  and great fear fell
upon those  who were watching them. "
(Revelation 11:11) (NASB) -BibleGateway

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah  unto these bones:
Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you,
and ye shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you,
and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you
with skin, and put breath in you,  and ye shall live;
and ye shall know that I am Jehovah."
(Ezekiel 37:3-6) (ASV) -BibleGateway

Kingdom Rulers
of the Earthly Sheep

"...with Your blood You purchased men
unto God from every tribe and language and people
and nation.  And You have made them a kingdom
- a royal race-  and priests to our God,
and
they shall reign as kings
OVER  the  EARTH
!"
(Revelation 5:9,10)(AMP)-BibleGateway

THE FIRST RESURRECTION WILL RULE OVER THE EARTH WITH CHRIST

"...and they shall reign as kings
OVER  the  EARTH
!"
(Revelation 5:9,10)(AMP)-BibleGateway

"...the dead in Christ Will Rise First..."
(1Thessalonians 4:16)(NASB)-BibleGateway

IMMORTALITY OF THE HUMAN SOUL
IS IN - OPPOSITION - TO - THE  RESURRECTION

"the Christian doctrine of the resurrection of
the body from the dead was in direct opposition
to
the pagan notion of the inherent immortality
of the human soul, a notion held today by the vast
majority of Christians."

"It was under pagan Greek influence that the doctrine
of the immortality of the soul came into Judaism. ...
Basically the two beliefs of resurrection and the soul's immortality
are contradictory
. The one refers to a collective resurrection
at the end of the days,  i.e., that the dead sleeping in the earth will arise
from the grave, while the other refers to the state of the soul after
the death of the body. ... It was held by the pagans that when
the individual died - his soul still lived on in another realm -
this gave rise to all the beliefs regarding heaven and hell -
while (in truth) his body lay in the grave to await the
physical resurrection of all the dead here on earth."

IMMORTALITY  OF  THE  SOUL

MEANING  OF  "SOUL"

In the very first book of the Bible, Genesis,
we learn the accurate meaning of  "soul."
Regarding the creation of the first man, Adam,
the Bible says :

"Jehovah God proceeded to form the
man out of dust from the ground and to blow into
his nostrils the breath of life, and
the man came to be a living soul."
(Genesis 2:7)(ASV)

YOUR  SOUL -  IS   "YOU"

SOUL - "A Noun; self;  life;  person."
- Vine's Expository Dictionary
   Page 237 - Old Testament

"Soul, a  'living being', 'life', 'self', 'person',
Nephesh or soul, can only denote the individual life
with a material body."
- INTERNATIONAL STANDARD BIBLE ENCYCLOPEDIA
   Page 2837.

"To the Hebrews, Paul, the early Christians,
and Jesus himself (another devout Jew),
each person is a human soul, created by God."
-Immortality of the Soul
or Resurrection of the Dead?

Clearly, the soul is not what a man has
but rather what he is.

The Hebrew word used here for soul is ne'phesh.
It occurs some 700 times in the Bible, and it never
refers to a separate and ethereal part of a human
but always to something tangible and physical.
-Job 6:7; Psalm 35:13; 107:9; 119:28.

What happens to the soul at death ?

Consider what happened to Adam at his death.
When he sinned, God told him :

"You [will] return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken.
For dust you are and to dust you will return."
(Genesis 3:19)

Think of what that means.

Before God created him from the dust,
Adam did not exist. After his death, Adam
ceased to exist.  He returned to the same state of
nonexistence.

Simply stated, the Bible teaches that death is the
opposite of life.

"The living are conscious that they will die;
but as for the dead, they are conscious
of nothing at all..."
(Ecclesiastes 9:5)

"His spirit goes out,
he goes back to his ground;
in that day his thoughts do perish."
(Psalm 146:3, 4)

The Bible clearly shows that at death
the soul does NOT leave the body,
but it dies.

"The soul that is sinning-
it itself will die."
(Ezekiel 18:20)

Thus, the doctrine of the immortality of the soul
does not find any support in the Scriptures.

IMMORTALITY OF THE HUMAN SOUL
WAS  THE  VERY  FIRST  LIE
TOLD  BY  SATAN

IMMORTALITY OF THE HUMAN SOUL
WAS  THE  VERY  FIRST  LIE
TOLD  BY  SATAN.

the  FIRST  LIE  --  Genesis 3:14,
"Ye shall not surely die."  -  is Satan's masterpiece of deception
which has caused most to believe that we possess immortal souls --

IMMORTALITY OF THE HUMAN SOUL -
WAS THE FIRST LIE TOLD BY SATAN

"You will NOT surely die,"
the serpent said to the woman."
(Genesis 3:4)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"The serpent told the Woman,
' You won't die.
God knows that the moment
you eat from that tree,
you'll see what's really going on.
You'll be just like God, knowing everything...' "
(Genesis 3:4,5)(MSG)-BibleGateway

Death was the punishment for disobeying God -

"And Jehovah God commanded the man, saying,
Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that
thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
(Genesis 2:16,17)(ASV)-BibleGateway

Yet, Satan in his rebellion against Jehovah - told Eve a lie -
that if she disobeyed God - rather than dying -
she would become like
God and live forever - and have  " IMMORTALITY "

The Bible is quite clear that
only God "hath immortality."
(1.Tim. 6:16).

Satan said through his medium the serpent :
"Ye shall not surely die."

However, God said through his prophet Ezekiel:
"The soul that sinneth, it shall die."
Ezekiel 18:20.

"Through the two great errors, the immortality of the soul
and Sunday sacredness,
Satan will bring the people under
his deceptions"
-Ellen White; (Great Controversy, p. 588).

"According to a recent Gallup Poll, 71 per cent of Americans
believe in conscious afterlife..... The outcome is that
the vast majority of people have come to believe Satan's lie
that no matter what they do, they "shall not die" (Gen 3:4) -
but become like gods by living for ever."

- Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph. D.
Retired Professor of Theology, Andrews University

"This doctrine of natural immortality can be traced
through the muddy channels of a corrupted Christianity,
a perverted Judaism, and pagan philosophy, and a
superstitious idolatry, to the great instigator of
mischief in the garden of Eden. The Protestants borrowed
it from the Catholics, the Catholics from the Pharisees,
the Pharisees from the pagans, and the pagans from the
old serpent who first preached the doctrine amid the
lowly bowels of Paradise to an audience all too willing
to hear and heed the new and fascinating theology:
"ye shall not surely die.""
-Methodist-Congregationalist clergyman,
  Amos Phelps (1805-1874)

The doctrine of the immortality of the soul
is a false doctrine of satanic origins.
It attempts to replace the Biblical doctrine
of the mortal life of man that ends in death (the opposite of life)
to a condition of immortality.

Immortality of the human soul is at opposites with the
resurrection.  If humans are immortal - they do not need
a resurrection.    Yet Jesus preached
"A Resurrection" -
upon his return to the earth.

Yes, Christ was in total agreement
with the prophets - who also foretold
an "Earthly Resurrection".

"I know that he will rise again
in the resurrection on the last day."
(John 11:24)(NASB)-BibleGateway

"Don't be surprised! The time will come when
all of the dead will hear the voice of the Son of Man,
and they will come out of their graves. "
(John 5:28) (CEV) -BibleGateway

" then his flesh is renewed like a child's;
it is restored as in the days of his youth"
(Job 33:25)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake.."
(Daniel 12:2)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Thus saith the Lord Jehovah unto these bones :
Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you,
and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live;
and ye shall know that I am Jehovah."
(Ezekiel 37:3-6) (ASV) -BibleGateway

"...the dead in Christ will rise first."
(1Thessalonians 4:16)(NASB)-BibleGateway

"The rest of the dead did not come to life
until the thousand years were ended.
This is the first resurrection."
(Revelation 20:5)(NIV)-BibleGateway

Even The Apostles preached an
"EARTHLY  RESURRECTION"

"... If there's no chance of resurrection for a corpse,
if God's power stops at the cemetery gates,
why do we keep doing things that suggest
he's going to clean the place out someday,
pulling everyone up on their feet alive?"
(1Corinthians 15:29) (MSG) -BibleGateway

"...the breath of life from God came into them,
and they stood on their feet ;
and great fear fell upon those who were watching them. "
(Revelation 11:11) (NASB) -BibleGateway

Both the Prophets and Jesus revealed
that the dead are unconscious - sleeping -
waiting for Christ's to resurrect them
from the dead.

"Jesus answered...
'Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep;
but I am going there to wake him up."
His disciples replied,
'Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.'
Jesus had been speaking of his death,
but his disciples thought
he meant natural sleep."
(John 11:9-13) (NIV)-BibleGateway

"The dead praise not the Lord,
neither any that go down into silence;"
for when a man dies,
"His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth;
in that very day his thoughts perish."
(Ps. 115:17; 146:4).

"For the living know that they shall die:
but the dead know not anything ....
Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might;
for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom,
in the grave,  whither thou goest."
(Ecclesiastes 9: 5 and 10)

"The living at least know they will die,
but the dead know nothing...."
(Ecclesiastes 9:5)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"the expression to sleep, which is the customary
designation in the New Testament of 'death',
draws us to the view that the dead are those
'who sleep'. The dead wait for the Lord Jesus,
to wake them at a later time.
Therefore once again
we see that the New Testament resurrection hope
is far different from the pagan Greek belief in
immortality of the soul."

"There is nothing in the words translated  ' soul ' or in their usage
in the Bible that even remotely implies a conscious entity that survives
the body after death,  or that attributes immortality to it.
Nephesh (the soul)  is not part of the person;  it is the person ! "
- (Bible Dictionary by Siegfried H. Horn, Ph.D., p. 1061).

"And Jehovah God formed man
of the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
(Genesis 2:7)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"So also it is written, The first man Adam
became a living soul..."
(1Corinthians 15:45)(ASV)-BibleGateway

"And Jehovah God formed the man, of the dust from the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils breath of life;
and man became a living soul." [Gen 2:7]

This First Lie of in immortal soul thus spread around the earth -
from ancient Babylon onward and became a
doctrine of all pagan religions.

"immortality, we have seen, engaged the serious
attention of the Babylonian theologians. . . .
Death was a passage to another kind of life."
- [The Religion of Babylonia and Assyria (Boston, 1898),
         M. Jastrow, Jr., page 556]

Pagans followed Satan's lie

"The Greeks of the New Testament era
were pagans, alternately worshiping an
abundance of false deities and engaging in
Platonic philosophical discussions.
The world into which Christianity was born
was a Hellenistic world, dominated by Plato
and paganism.
One of these pagan ideas was
the belief that the human body was little more
than a shell, housing an eternal life force
alternately called a soul."

"Many who professed conversion still clung to the
tenets of their pagan philosophy...Serious errors
were thus introduced into the Christian faith.
Prominent among these was the belief in man's natural
immortality and his consciousness in death."
-E. G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 58.

"...Our soul is immortal, and has judges, and
pays the utmost penalties whenever a man is rid of the body."
[Plato (pagan philosopher), 7th letter, 335a]

DEATH  - A  CURSE  OR   A  BLESSING ?
ENEMY  OR  FRIEND ?

The Hebrews and the early Christians considered death to be
a curse and a punishment.  They recognized death as part of
the curse laid upon Adam and Eve for their disobedience to God.
They were promised that when Christ returned to the earth -
he would do away with death.

"The last enemy to be destroyed is death."
(1Corinthians 15:26)(NIV)-BibleGateway

The pagans, on the other hand - thought of death as a blessing
by which they could be released from their bodies to enjoy -
the natural immortality of the human soul.

The Christians realized that immortality was a reward that they might
one day earn - Just as Jesus had to earn his reward of immortality.

IMMORTALITY IS A REWARD THAT MUST BE EARNED JUST AS JESUS EARNED IT

-- IMMORTALITY --
A  "REWARD"  FOR  FAITHFULNESS
THAT  MUST  BE  EARNED -
JUST  AS  JESUS  EARNED IT.

"God had the power to save Jesus from death.
And while Jesus was on earth, he begged God
with loud crying and tears to save him.
He truly worshiped God, and God listened to
his prayers. Jesus is God's own Son, but still
he had to suffer before he could learn what it
really means to obey God.
Suffering made Jesus perfect
."
(Hebrews 5:7-9)(CEV)-BibleGateway

God Offers "Immortality"
As a "Reward"

"He will give eternal life
to those who keep on doing good,
seeking after the glory and honor
and immortality that God offers."
(Romans 2:7)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"To those who by persistence in doing good
seek
glory, honor and immortality,
he will give eternal life."
(Romans 2:7)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"For the Son of Man is going to come
in his Father's glory with his angels,
and then he will reward each person
according to what he has done."
(Matthew 16:27)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"...each will be rewarded
according to his own labor."
(1Corinthians 3:8)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Behold, I am coming soon!
My reward is with me, and I will give to
everyone according to what he has done."
(Revelation 22:12)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth
will awake: some to everlasting life,
others to shame and everlasting contempt."
(Daniel 12:2)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Yet the contrast between the pagan Greek idea
of the immortality of the soul and the Christian
belief in the resurrection is still deeper.
Death is NOT something natural, willed by God,
as in the thought of the pagan Greek philosohers;
it is rather something unnatural, abnormal, opposed to God.
The Genesis narrative teaches us that it came
into the world only by the sin of man. Death is a
curse,
and the whole creation has become involved
in the curse."

"death in the New Testament is always conceived
as
'the last enemy' in a way that is diametrically
opposed to pagan Greek thought, which sees death
as a friend.  Death will be conquered as the last
enemy, as recorded at [I Corinthians 15:26].
John's Apocalypse 20:14 describes the victory
at the end, the annihilation of Death: 'Death will
be cast into a pool of fire' ; and a few verses
farther on it is said, Death will be no more'."

MORE  SECULAR  STATEMENTS
ABOUT  THE  PAGAN  ORIGIN
OF  THE  IMMORTAL  SOUL  DOCTRINE

"The idea of the inherent indestructibility of the human soul
owes its origin to pagan Greek
, NOT Bible sources.
The central theme of the New Testament is eternal life,
NOT for everybody and anybody,
but for believers in Christ as risen from the dead."
- 1943; the Church of England

"Many who professed conversion
still clung to the tenets of their pagan philosophy,
and not only continued its study themselves,
but urged it upon others as a means of extending
their influence among the heathen.
Serious errors were thus introduced into the Christian faith.
Prominent among these was the belief
in man's natural immortality
and his consciousness in death."
-E. G. White, The Great Controversy, p. 58.

William Tyndale, English reformer and Bible translator,
openly opposed the papal doctrine
of the immortality of the human soul -
calling it a heathen and pagan doctrine :

"And ye - papacy - in putting them -souls- in heaven,
hell, and purgatory, destroy the arguments wherewith
Christ and Paul prove the resurrection. . . .
The true faith putteth the resurrection,
which we be warned to look for every hour.
The heathen philosophers, denying that,
did put that the soul did ever live.
And the pope joineth the spiritual doctrine of Christ
and the fleshly doctrine of philosophers together;
things so contrary that they cannot agree...
And because the fleshly minded pope
consenteth unto heathen doctrine,
therefore he corrupteth the scripture to stablish it. . . .
And again, if the souls be in heaven...tell me...
then what cause is there of the resurrection?"
- William Tyndale, English reformer and Bible translator,
An Answer to Sir Thomas More's Dialogue,
  Book 4, Chapter 2

A noted Wesleyan scholar, J.A. Beeth, after a wide study on the subject,
summarized the issue aptly:

"The phrase, the soul immortal,
so frequent and conspicuous in the writings of Plato,
we have not found in pre-Christian literature
outside the influence of Greek philosophy;
nor have we found it in Christian literature
until the latter part of the second century.
We have noticed that all the earliest Christian writers
who use this phrase - were familiar with the teaching of Plato;
that one of these, Tertullian, expressly refers both the phrase
and doctrine to him;  and that the early Christian writers
never support this doctrine by appeals to the Bible,
but only by arguments similar to those of Plato. . . .
We have failed to find any trace of this doctrine in the Bible. . . .
It is altogether alien, both in phrase and thought,
to the teaching of Christ and His apostles."
- A noted Wesleyan scholar,  J.A. Beeth
Immortality of the Soul,  pp. 53,54

"While in pagan religions, salvation was often conceived of
as a human ascension toward God,
in Biblical faith, salvation is realized through a divine descent
toward mankind.   In other words, the Christian hope rests not
on an inherent capacity of disembodied souls to go up to God
but on God's revelation of His willingness to come down to our planet
to restore our world to its original perfection."
-Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph. D.
Retired Professor of Theology, Andrews University

"The (pagan) belief in immediate transit of individual souls after death
to a state of perfect blessedness (heaven),
or to a state of continuous punishment (hell),
or to an intermediate state of purification (purgatory)
has greatly weakened the expectation of Christ's Coming."
-Samuele Bacchiocchi, Ph. D.
Retired Professor of Theology, Andrews University

"how widespread is the mistake of attributing
to primitive Christianity the pagan Greek belief
in the immortality of the soul
... (there is a)
radical difference between the Christian expectation
of the resurrection of the dead and the Greek belief
in the immortality of the soul."

"The belief that the soul continues its existence
after the dissolution of the body is nowhere taught
in the Holy Scriptures
...The belief in the immortality
of the soul came chiefly through the philosophy of Plato,
in which Babylonian and Egyptian views were
strangely blended."

"Nowhere in the Bible is the immortality of the soul
taught
.  Nowhere is the soul distinct from the body, taught:
A notion which has erroneously been derived
from heathen philosophers."
-JAMIESON, FAUSSET AND BROWN

"If you have fallen in with some who are called
Christians, who say there is no resurrection of
the dead - but rather that their souls, when they die,
are taken to heaven; do not imagine that they are
Christians."

has been strongly influenced by pagans such as
Plato and Aristotle."

"The story of the Christian church between Pentecost
of 31 A.D. ad the Council of Nicea in 325 A.D.,
almost 300 years later, is an amazing story.
It is the story of how yesterday's orthodoxy
became today's heresy and how old heresies came to be
considered orthodox Christian doctrine.
It is the story
of how church tradition and the teaching of the bishops
came to supersede the Word of God as a source of doctrine.
It is a story that is stranger then fiction, yet
very much historically verifiable."
-John H. Ogwyn, "God's Church Through The Ages."

 Resurrection as a Human
or Resurrection as a Spirit Creature ?

Which One ?

The Bible speaks of Two types of resurrections.
One as a Kingdom Ruler with Christ
and one as a an earthly Subject
of that Kingdom Rule.

Be Prepared For My Return

CHRIST RETURN PREPARE

Be Prepared For My Return

The vast majority of mankind is asleep in regard to
the times we are living in.   On the other hand -
we are admonished by Jesus Christ himself,
to stay awake and be on the alert for his return
to the earth.

Jesus compares his return  to a thief in the night
that returns when least expected.

If the householder remains awake - then he will be
prepared.

"Behold, I come like a thief!
Blessed is he who stays awake...."
(Revelation  16:15)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"For you yourselves know full well that
the day of the Lord will come
just like a thief in the night."
(1Thessalonians 5:2)(NASB)-BibleGateway

"But be sure of this,
that if the head of the house had known
at what time of the night the thief was coming,
he would have been on the alert."
(Matthew 24:43)(NASB)-BibleGateway

This sounds like a warning.

And it is  !

We are warned of how dangerous this is.

How so ?

We are reminded that upon Christ's return -
there will be a destruction of "Ungodly" men.

A Day of Judgment

"..... the day of judgment
and destruction of ungodly men. "
(2Peter 3:7)(NASB)-BibleGateway

"For, behold, Jehovah will come with fire,
 and his chariots shall be like the whirlwind;
to render his anger with fierceness,
and his rebuke with flames of fire."
(Isaiah 66:15)(ASV)-BibleGateway

Yes, as executioner of Jehovah God's Great Day,
Jesus Christ will return as a thief in the night.

"... when the Lord Jesus
will be revealed from heaven
with His mighty angels  in flaming fire,"
(2Thessalonians 1:7)(NASB)-BibleGateway

       Too Busy

Just Like Noah's Day

People today are too busy with everyday affairs
that they are taking no note,
just as they did in the days of Lot
and in the days of Noah.
They took no note, until it was too late.
In effect, they were spiritually asleep
to the warning that Noah gave to them.

Jesus foretold that it would be that same way,
when he returned to take over rule of
the entire earth :

"For the  coming of the Son of Man
will be just like the days of Noah.
For as in those days before the flood
 they were eating and drinking,
 marrying and giving in marriage,
until the day that  Noah entered the ark,
and they did not understand (they took no note)
 until the flood came and took (swept) them all away;
so will the  coming of the Son of Man be. "
(Matthew 24:37-39)(NASB)-BibleGateway

"It was the same as happened in  the days of Lot:
they were eating, they were drinking,
they were buying, they were selling,
 they were planting, they were building;
but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom
it rained fire and brimstone from heaven
and destroyed them all.
"It will be just the same
on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. "
(Luke 17:28-30)(NASB)-BibleGateway

Although there is nothing wrong with
eating and drinking and marrying, etc. -
when such activities keep you so busy
that you don't pay attention to the warnings
of the times,  then you are in grave danger,
as were the people in Noah's day.

Noah's Day was a Warning Example

"These things happened to them as a warning to us.
All this was written in the Scriptures to teach us -
who live in these last days."
(1Corinthians 10:11)(CEV)-BibleGateway

".....And they served as a warning sign. "
(Numbers 26:10)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"All these events happened to them as examples for us.
They were written down to warn us,
who live at the time
when this age is drawing to a close.
(1Corinthians 10:11)(NLT)-BibleGateway

We must not sleep - but rather stay alert
and awake to the times we live in.

Even the apostles have left a note of warning
concerning the return of Our Lord, Jesus Christ :

"But you, brethren, are not in darkness,
that the day would overtake you
 like a thief...."
(1Thessalonians 5:4)(NASB)-BibleGateway

There is no excuse for us to be in spiritual darkness -
since we have the words of the prophets
and the words of Jesus, which have been
carefully preserved in the scriptures -
for us to meditate upon and consider daily.

Yes, we are once again reminded by Peter
that the return of Christ - "the Day of the Lord"
will indeed come when least expected -
just like a thief in the night does.

"But  the day of the Lord
 will come like a thief....."
(2Peter 3:10)(NASB)

Although it seems like a long time in waiting
for the promised return of Christ -
Remember, it will be like a thief -
when we least expect it.

"Therefore  be on the alert,
for you do not know which day

your Lord is coming.....
 For this reason  you also must be ready;
for  the Son of Man is coming at an hour
when you do not think He will......"
(Matthew 24:42,44)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Be on guard,
so that your hearts will not
be weighted down
with dissipation(over eating)
 and drunkenness(over drinking)
 and the worries of life,
and that day will not come on you
suddenly like a trap;
for it will come upon all those
who dwell on the face of all the earth.
"But  keep on the alert at all times,
praying that you may have strength
 to escape all these things
that are about to take place,
and to  stand before the Son of Man."
( Luke 21:34-36)(NIV)-BibleGateway

Yes we have advanced warning.

Jesus Gives a Warning

"See, I have warned you beforehand."
(Matthew 24:25)(AMP)-BibleGateway

"I have told you this,
so that when the time comes
you will remember that I warned you."
(John 16:4)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"Listen to this carefully.
I'm warning you."
(Mark 3:28)(MSG)-BibleGateway

"Yes, I'm telling you these things now,
so that when they happen,
you will remember I warned you."
(John 16:4)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"...The Lord will punish men for all such sins,
as we have already told you and warned you."
(1Thessalonians 4:6)(NIV)-BibleGateway

A Sign of the Times

WHAT  SIGN  IS  THAT ?

How did Jesus describe what life on earth
would be like - when he returns ?

In Matthew the 24th Chapter, Jesus was asked
by his disciples - how we would know when he
was returning to the earth, and when the end
of the age would come.

"As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives,
the disciples came to him privately.
Tell us, they said, when will this happen,
and what will be the sign of your coming
and of the end of the age?"
(Matthew 24:3)(NIV)-BibleGateway

Jesus goes into great detail describing a time
when the entire earth would be at war. Some feel
that he was describing the First two World Wars.
He also goes onto describe how conditions on the
earth would continue to worsen, until people would
feel so unsafe - that they would feel faint with worry
about how violent and bad the world's conditions
had become.  Even the prophet Daniel foretold this
very same conditions in regard to prophecies about
when Jesus would return again, and also in regard
to prophecies of the "Last Days".

Jesus described the time of his return
in this way -

"For then there will be great distress,
unequaled from the beginning of the world until now-
-and never to be equaled again.
If those days had not been cut short,
no one would survive..."
(Matthew 24:21,22)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"...and he will come at a time of terrible suffering,
the worst in all of history........"
(Daniel 12:1)(CEV)-BibleGateway

"...The prophet Daniel described this.
If you've read Daniel,
you'll know what I'm talking about.
This is going to be trouble on a scale
beyond what the world has ever seen,
or will see again."
(Matthew 24:15,21)(MSG)-BibleGateway

"For that will be a time of greater horror
than anything the world has ever seen
or will ever see again.
In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened,
the entire human race will be destroyed..."
(Matthew 24:21,22)(NLT)-BibleGateway

"For then there will be a  great tribulation,
such as has not occurred
since the beginning of the world until now,
nor ever will ever again.
Unless those days had been cut short,
no life would have been saved."
(Matthew 24:21,22) (NASB) --BibleGateway

"Men will faint from terror,
apprehensive of what is coming on the world..."
(Luke 21:26)(NIV)-BibleGateway

"People will be so frightened that they will faint
because of what is happening to the world. "
(Luke 21:26)(CEV)-BibleGateway

"Men will be weak with fear.
They will be afraid of the things
that will be happening to the world."
(Luke 21:26)(WorldWide English)(WE)-BibleGateway

The Bible goes on to describe how it will be in
the "LAST DAYS" - when Christ returns.

"You can be certain that in the last days
there will be some very hard times.
People will love only themselves and money.
They will be proud, stuck-up, rude,
and disobedient to their parents.
They will also be ungrateful, godless,
heartless, and hateful.
Their words will be cruel,
and they will have no self-control or pity.
These people will hate everything that is good.
They will be sneaky, reckless,
and puffed up with pride.
Instead of loving God, they will love pleasure.
Even though they will make a show
of being religious,
their religion won't be real.
(2Timothy 3:1-5)(CEV)-BibleGateway

And the Good News Is ?

The Good News is that after Christ removes all evildoers
from the earth, he will usher in a time of peace and prosperity
to the earth, where all men will be treated fairly and equal.
Crime and violence will be done away with.   Sickness, pain,
suffering, and death itself will also be removed from mankind.

After ruling the earth for a thousand years, Christ will then
turn rulership back over to his Father, Jehovah God.
By restoring mankind and the earth to its original paradise
conditions, Christ will once again - have shown his great love
for mankind, and his pure devotion to the will of his God and
Father, Jehovah.

"the grand consummation when,
 after crushing the opposition,
he hands over his kingdom to God the Father.
He won't let up until the last enemy is down--
and the very last enemy is death!
When everything and everyone is finally under God's rule,
the Son will step down,
taking his place with everyone else,

showing that God's rule is absolutely comprehensive-
-a perfect ending!
(1Corinthians 15:24-26,28)(MSG)-BibleGateway

"And Jehovah shall be King
over all the earth:
in that day shall Jehovah be one,
and his name one."
(Zechariah 14:9)(ASV)-BibleGateway
