Thanksgiving Photoblog

Oh my word, what happened to my baby?!  He's ginormous. :(

Brooklynn Spends the Night!! And we Play Outside!-Nov

Anna and Sarah (White grandchildren #1 and #2) enjoyed spending time together.

Thanks Giving-Nov

Sarah -- she's 2.5 months younger than Anna and about a millimeter taller for the first time in her life.  O.K. they might be dead even; it's a close call. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving, Xanga Friends!!

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

I never thought I'd be so excited about gas.  I just filled my van up for $30!  Very exciting.  I also went to Wal-mart and did my big shop.  For Thursday, I got:

snowman paper products for the kids

LOTS of rolls

stuff to make a big, green bean casserole

pumpkin pie (I let Mrs. Smith make it)

sugar cookies with snowmen on them (I let Pilsbury make the dough)

gingerale, cranberry gingerale, and lemonade

Grandma Candy is bringing turkey, dressing, gravy, and deviled eggs for Papa Bear (yes, I totally got all the easy stuff).  Aunt T is bringing mashed potatoes (and possibly mac-n-cheese and pineapple casserole for the kiddos). The plan is to sit the 9 kids down to eat with paper plates.  When they're done, I can clear the table(s) in a flash and let the grown-ups use real plates.  It looks like the weather might even be nice. :)

The Agony and the Ecstacy

So I finally joined forces with the dark side and set up a facebook account.  Within the first 12 hours I'd found an old friend from highschool youthgroup (we went on 2 mission trips together), AND on his friendlist I found a woman who worked with our youthgroup for years, as far back as MIDDLE school.  How fun is that?!?  I only ever had the chance to post one, "Erika is. . ." comment.  O.K. maybe two.  But for the last several days, it has had me locked out.  I can get to the homepage, but that's all.  It keeps telling me I'm not signed in, eventhough I'm re-signing in every time I try to click on anything. . .Annoying!  J.J. is off tomorrow.  No small group tomorrow night.  So we're looking forward to a low-key family day.  And the facebook situation will be fixed. ;)

In other news, I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner!  Papa Bear's parents and one of his sisters (and crew) will be coming.  I'm really excited.  Pray for good weather, as 9 kids in 1200 sq feet can be cozy.

Rested

I'm back from a relaxing weekend in Atlanta at Nana and Papa's house.  Weekend included: going to bed early, taking a Saturday afternoon nap, toddlers behaving better than usual, and visiting with loved ones.  The only headache was getting caught in horrible Friday evening traffic on the way there (duh:  NEVER go to Atlanta on a Friday afternoon/ evening.  Don't do it!).

Now excuse me while I send my assignment email (EARLY!) and brace myself for a ridiculously busy tomorrow.
