I know it's the day after the MLK holiday, but I just found this site.  I'm very auditory, and I just listened to the "I Have A Dream" speech in its entirety.  It is a beautiful piece of history. . .the speech itself, that is.  I know it was inspired by some not so beautiful things in history.  I always have a hard time believing that that tumultuous decade ended just a few years before I was born.

Thanks for posting that. It really is beautiful, but in my humble opinion, much more so coming from the man himself. It gives me chills, tears, and goosebumps.

RYC: The whole equality thing makes you the f-word. Really that is what the f word is about, but it has gotten confused and redefined by people with their own agendas - those for and against the f-word included. :)

What you said about the belief system was really comforting and I had never thought about it on those terms before. I always learn a lot from you dealing with religion and beliefs. I appreciate that so much!

And I agree about the whole EE thing. I think that people too often see politicans only as politicans and their wives and not as people. I adore John McCain. If it was a photo of me and him (I could only hope!) the same kind of judgement would be made. I think that is what I hate about the whole politics thing. On social issues - I am pretty left. But I want change in who those things are handled (like education counting towards welfare work requirements- during his convention speech, I was so impressed that Bush was stressing education in adults!) but there are issues I fall on the right with, too. I hate that I almost have to be either or. I get told off by liberals for selling out and being too conservative and I get told off by conservatives for being liberal. *sigh*(

I appreciate all of your comments so much. And I appreciate you, too. I hope that you know that, my friend.

Hope you are feeling better. Sorry to comment a blog :)
