| | Night Owls Reform and Summer Upon Us!Tonight Anna announced that she was tired and went to bed at 7:20. We've done standardized testing for the last two days with some of the folks from our homeschool group. When we get home at around lunch time, I rest (while Luke is napping), but I'm the only one. Keeping the nursery kiddos (kids of the testers) for 3 hours wears me out! And for three days in a row, we've gone to the pool, in the late afternoon/evening. Natalie fell asleep all curled up in her chair at the kitchen table (no batteries in the camera!), about 5 minutes after Anna voluntarily tucked herself in. I had to chase Julia and Caleb to bed a little later, but Julia was weepy-tired. Caleb is on his top bunk with his nose still buried in an Encyclopedia Brown library book. Apparently, he doesn't need as much sleep as the rest of us. Tomorrow's the last day of testing, and our summer will have officially begun. I agonized a bit over the decision to send the older kids to school next year. Now I find myself REALLY excited to be handing off that responsibility. Next year any books we read together, projects we undertake, or educational field trips we go on are just BONUS! Happy Summer! |
