| | There's a lot going on, so it's hard to condense and update. We've been back from Atlanta, since Saturday. While we were gone, Papa Bear had a crazy and somewhat life-changing week. First he accidentally smacked his head and got stitches (the glule kind), then he was given notice that his truly wonderful assistant manager (and one of his best friends) will only be working with him for another month, and lastly, he had some time of solitude (with God and Scripture and some old notes that he and I had written eachother) in which he felt deeply convicted about the man that He desires (and is called) to be. It's all very moving, and I can't even begin to do it justice in this little, bullet blog, so I'll move on. The kids and I had a great time in Atlanta. We got to go to the lake on the 4th of July, and to my sister's water-park-like pool, later in the week. We visited with both sets of Grandparents, Papa Bear's oldest sister (and family), all of my siblings (and their families), my aunt and uncle (and two young cousins), and my Grandmother. . .And Papa Bear's one sister who we didn't see is planning to bring her 4 kids (and her camper) to a state park near here this weekend. :) Now on to the very sad news: On Sunday after church, we got word that one of our church elders was in a car accident in Alabama, where they were on vacation. Both he and his 12 year old son were killed. His wife Rachel, and their 10 year old daughter Tabby sustained only minor injuries, and are now back in Athens. Rachel was Natty's 2yr old Sunday School teacher all year last year, and Tabby is in Anna's grade. I really can't even begin to wrap my brain around this tragedy. There's a prayer meeting for the family tonight, that I'm planning on going to. If you're the praying sort, please remember the Mays family. My prayer is (and will continue to be for a long time), that they would feel Christ's presence and a very real sense of peace during this time of unimaginable sorrow. |
