Well noon meal is well past done and the dishes along with it. Daughter washed and I tried to dry with some brand new terry towels. Notice the word try?  I trotted out to the basket holding the old grungy looking towels and dragged them back in. These new ones are so flipping thin!  It's not fair, wrapped together like they were one could not tell just how thin! Think I might bring that to Wal Mart's attention. Yeah sure.

Daughter and I sat and watched the Finding Nemo movie she brought in. Mercy I had to turn that way up to hear most of it, worse was sorting out some of the dialog. My brain isn't so fast or else my hearing is worse.

I supsect my brain as I had asked her what treat she gave her little ferret for the holiday and it just flew right over my head what she meant when she said something about the vet tech. I didn't register she had given the ferret to her. She said I wasn't listening and I said I'd just not connected.

We had a good laugh today at my rolls with the bottoms cut off and her mashed potatoes that she added too much milk. She would plop it on our plate and call it -- oh how the heck do you spell gruel?

It was nice to see her for a longer spell today than usual. She even handed hub his Father's Day card she finally found in her purse.

She wasn't kidding about hunting for a new apartment. Her lease runs out the end of January. She is on a bottom floor and when the plumbing acts up her one toilet will overflow. One night she and Angel heard water running while they were watching TV. Clear water thankfully, but it was an inch deep and even gurgling in the bathtub.

The pad under the carpet acted as a sponge and dragged water down the hall and into bedrooms and even back closet. The guy paid to come on emergency's didn't want to start up his noisy equipment at 1 a.m. to extract the water so he brought a fan in. His promised return at sun up amounted to after 10 a.m.

Her letter to the management went un-acknowledged. They haven't even offered her rental compensation for this sub-contractor who not only didn't do the job that night but made derogatory remarks about blacks causing these plumbing problems. (He'd seen her upstairs neighbor) Then he started hauling her things from her closets without ever a word to her.

Oh and how did they get the water from other apartments to stop flooding hers? Angel went to his truck and got a wrench and pulled the top off the outside clean out. Barely jumping out of the way before not clear water came spewing out.

The problem with living in older complexes that one can better afford is all these maintance problems the owners haven't kept up with. Of course I'm sure some of the tenants just add lots of headaches for them too.

She won't be inquiring at the brand new place next door. Once they know your salary the cost goes up.

I'm sure she will appreciate cash at Christmas. Oh shoot I forgot once again to tell her not to buy us anything. Not that she pays any attention.

You should of seen blind Charlie begging between her and I. One time he sat on the windowsill and we both thought he was thinking of jumping for the table. But he didn't. We kept him supplied.

Glad to hear of your time with daughter.    I'm sure it did both your hearts good.    The burned rolls and soupy potatoes will serve as memories of fun times.    I know we remember things like that in our family with fondness.

Just take any of my images you like.    I pick them up from gif sites all over the web.   I have a million of them.
