Severe Weather Alert for San Antonio

RAIN CHANCES INCREASING AGAIN TONIGHT AND SATURDAY... A LOW ALOFT NEAR THE WEST COAST WILL MOVE TO THE CENTRAL U.S. SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT...AND THEN EAST OF SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ON SUNDAY. RAIN IS FORECAST TO INCREASE OVER SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS TONIGHT AND SATURDAY. COLD RAIN IS LIKELY SATURDAY...ALONG WITH SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN IS POSSIBLE. RAINFALL SINCE LATE JANUARY HAS SATURATED THE GROUNDS. WITH LITTLE OR NO GROUND COVER IN WINTER...AND LOW EVAPORATION RATES THIS MONTH...RAINFALL WILL RUN OFF QUICKLY...ESPECIALLY IF LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS DEVELOP. THIS COULD CAUSE FLOODING IN LOW LYING AREAS...LOW WATER CROSSINGS...POORLY DRAINED AREAS...AND ALSO ALONG CREEKS...STREAMS AND RIVERS. ON SUNDAY...THE LOW IS FORECAST TO MOVE TO THE EASTERN U.S. AS A RESULT THE CHANCES FOR RAIN ARE EXPECTED TO DECREASE LATE SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. DRIER WEATHER IS EXPECTED SUNDAY AND MONDAY. ADDITIONAL STATEMENTS WILL BE ISSUED AS NECESSARY.

What in the heaven's name makes that a severe weather alert?! They do this on TV too, run that noisy little sound and trail the information.

This is not unusual for this time of year here! If you don't understand low water crossings then don't go out and drive.

Are we all such idiots now days? Do they have to say something or lose their little jobs? Gee whiz!

Otherwise I'm fine. Went to pool yesterday and then again today. Didn't think I worked as hard today as yesterday yet my blood sugar was lower today.

I've taken a lot of time to transcribe the tapes I did with my mom and dad in 1994 and put it in the big journal. The peek into their lives has been received well. Should you wish to read it send an email request.

I have oodles I need to be doing around here. I can't do any more psp lessons from the group because Little Egypt is out with surgery. I sure hope all went well for her.

I'm going to get a cup of decaf right now and take a nap I believe. Then hopefully I can get around and read xanga folks.

I guess it's a severe weather alert if you live in the low areas that might become flooded.  Then, I've also heard that lightening kills a lot of people, too.  So, it may be the thunder that they are warning you about.

There are a lot of stupid people in this world.

I haven't heard from Becca either. I have been praying. I hope she isn't giving the nurses too much trouble and if she is, I hope they are "nice-ing" her to pieces. That's what I used to do with "difficult and anxiety ridden" patients. Just cover them with honey and oooz with sweetness. I sure hope she is okay...

good you got two days of swimming in. Yippee, when Iget too creaky to skate I am going to be a swimmer.

have a lovely week-end.

Some of the weather alerts are silly, huh?

We're about to start hearing the tornado hype.
Er, I mean alerts. heh.

Yes, we used to live in Oklahoma City, which is right in Tornado Alley, and you got to hear those warnings so often you didn't really pay attention until it said "It's heading down 31st street". . . then you paid attention.  I have seen some of those low crossings in Austin filled with water.

They have to fill up gaps maybe, or maybe they get commission  for number of words.

Did not realize Little E was having her surgery at this time.  Thanks for the heads up!  We have been having weird warnings on our TV too that we never used to have.  Must be a sign of the times

I agree with Susan49--that there was a high possibilty of flooding if it did rain alot. Ummm--there ARE a lot of stupid people out there that need rescuing after floods because they try to drive through a flooded street or somehting. LOL *hugs*
