I worked on this last night. Not pleased with it, wishing there was something I could do for those 16 families. Strange how we go on with our lives and this will just be another sad memory of a war we think little about. Or I assume we think little about. A holiday weekend is coming up and maybe instead of shooting off illegal fireworks we would do better to light a candle.  I hope they find the missing team these guys were going to rescue.

Won't be doing any lesson for today's group. It's stationary day and I don't do those and rarely have I used them in email. I do have pool today.

Our lawn is drying up, I forgot to water plants off the patio yesterday and may lose the new black and blue salvia.   We are not on water restrictions yet but it will be coming. Our water source is an underground acquifer.

Close with a quote:

Did you ever notice:

The Roman Numerals for forty (40) are " XL."

very nice picture!

XL for extra lovable right??
I think Blizzie and I are going to go to the pool now and swim a lap... I dont think I will get more than one in...maybe float a few
I had a good doctor visit today... just my regular doc but she was much more helpful explaining everything. gave me lots more hope. She's good. I like her.

I hope your plants don't die. I never water the grass much when it gets so hot... I just let it go dormant, but the gardens... well, when we have restrictions I have gone out there with a gallon jug of water to save my expensive stuff...

I hope you have a fun week-end
stay cool and happy

I always enjoy seeing what new picture you have up-I wish I could do all that stuff you do. Our grass is drying up too--We did have some clouds today--no rain but some clouds-helped cool things off some.

As I watched the news tonight about the crash, I was struck with the fact that even though our family has endured some rough times, nothing like this has ever happened to us like this.     We are blessed.

Thank you for the memorial. The 4th of July celebrates our independence that would have been impossible without the sacrifices of our patriots. I hope you have a blessed and memorable 4th.

I just wrote something to southland about the sacrifices many families make. I was lucky....my SIL returned from Iraq and is home today with his wife (my older daughter). Yes, I will keep those families in my prayers, too. Great photo...

At least I am dying at 58 not 18 like some of the soldiers that Mr Bush values so much he does not even attend any of their funerals.

Yes light a candle, in Italy it is tradition to light a candle on a special day, every window sill has a lit candle, effective too because the homes are all high rise flats.

ryc, yes they have a test at the end, although they do help each other a bit, the test is purely a revision of the work done during the course.

It's tragic to think of people dying in a war that is supposed to be over.

That is a good quote.  I'd rather wear things XL that extra tight! LOL.

You did a great job on the memorial photo.  I hope you have a good 4th.

Hum, I learned that about the roman numeral XL when I was in second grade. L is 50 X is 10. The X before the L means 50 - 10. Just a bit of trivia there.
