Cloudy, rain?

Some of the regulars. Though I admit this week I haven't seen the pretty one on the left. But my eyes at 6 a.m.aren't really focused of late.

This morning the cats didn't stay out as long. Walked to get the drink of water for Charlie and that was about it.

Today I did 2 full laps in the pool. Takes me a long time to doggie paddle to the 12 ft. end. I was shocked to check sugar after my workout today and it was up!  I attribute it to the fact breakfast was cereal, decaf, and one pita Greek flat bread. 1 slice is 35 grams of carb. At least I got 7 g. protein. These were left over from Sunday's Communion. Hope the birds enjoy the last one.

I have been watching the news trying to figure out 1. who leaked the story, 2. what group was working to flood the Holland Tunnel. Why hold a press conference when you can't give information due to an ongoing investigation?

So I switched to Court TV to see a mother is suing *Wal Mart for one of their employees fondling of her daughter. (he's a registered sex offender) As I watched the video of him following the 10 yr. old down the aisle I could well understand the child's fear even if he had 'just' (use that word lightly) touched her buttocks. She was probably more afraid due to his groping himself too. And just where were the persons monitoring the camera's? Probably couldn't figure out what he was up too.

I can still remember a Grandfather who came up behind me when I was around that age and fondled me. It was not pleasant, it was confusing to me, and erotic feelings though fleeting was even more confusing. I can even remember the striped top I was wearing and I also remember a mother who would not let me have a bra for 'those marbles'. It took a gym teacher's comment relayed to mom that finally got me my first bra. I can see her sneering face when she made her crack too. Of course it is easy to remember the many times of her disproving looks. I have to search for any joyful ones.

Had such a thing happened to me in a store my mother's response probably would be I asked for it as she once said women have the control and she didn't believe in the cries of rape. You can bet she never heard of any of the encounters I may have had.

It is still hard for children to be believed. We may listen to them but do we really hear them?

I think its so sad what we allow to happen to kids these days--So many parents wont listen. We have a child molester living 2 doors from us--I printed off his picture and passed it thru the neighborhood--He knows I watch him all the time he's outside

Hi!

The post you commented on wasn't the protected one...protected was above the one you read.  So I guess protected posting must work since you didn't see it, huh?

Bonnie, I'm so sorry that happened to you. And to way too many little girls. It was almost a "normal" thing, wasn't it? But it wasn't really normal at all. Those memories never leave you. And I really don't understand how the mother's minds (many mothers anyway) of that generation, must have worked. You've done an amazing amount of work on behalf of children in your life. I know you have a lot of health problems. But I think God must smile when He looks at you. You've done so much good with little encouragement. I love you, dear friend.

Do you think we don't hear the children, or that sometimes its so horrible and we just don't know how to believe it?  I've no experience in this area, but I cannot even imagine the horror I'd feel if a child were to tell me that my Dad, their Grandfather, had touched them inappropriately.  Of course, what must the child feel if I would feel that horrible just hearing about it...people make me sick sometimes.

I've subbed to you & added you to my protected.  Those posts are mainly about what is going on with my son & his soon to be ex-wife...she comes to read sometimes & I don't want her using anything I say to slow down the divorce progress....

Have a great day!

Whenever I see children unattended in the stores, wandering through the aisles, or playing in the clothing racks, I cringe at the thought of how easy it would be to snatch one.      When I was growing up and even when our children were young, we never worried about people with warped minds molesting our kids.    Now it is out there and scares me.   I know it existed back in the day, but not like today.
