What kind of day will this be?

I've been up since 4:30 a.m. and now listening to Charlie meow for his morning walk. "It's still dark Charlie" I tell this blind cat. The other one is laying behind my chair. I swivel to pat Charlie's head and Chandler gets up. Sorry boys.

Yesterday we got some rain. Hallejuia! Today may be more so do I wash my canvas shoes and hope they are dry by tomorrow? Need to see if any more laundry exists. Without kids at home we don't wash as often.

Daughter's birthday is Tues. so son drove down from Austin yesterday and we went to Red Robbin (more expensive hamburger joint) to celebrate.

Here they are fixing to share a brownie they didn't expect to be so large and son didn't know any nuts were in. He hates nuts in stuff.  He said bar nuts he can eat.

I had to turn it to the way pictures used to be. The place had so much red it turned them into strange color.  No matter I have psp I couldn't get their skin tones right. She is real 'white' with red hair and he has a darker complexion. Sitting under a light over the table with a green shade you can imagine how that came out.

I notice when those two are together the conversation seems to center more on them. His gift to her yesterday is the necklace around her neck, a Celtic one. A book about Irish and a calender to set on her desk at work that had us cracking up. It is one of those with sayings that fit a high stress job. Wish I could remember some now. Hilarious.

I don't think either one of them understand me at all. My cloud picture taking is the butt of jokes and they have no interest in insulators for sure. Nothing old is of interest to them. Not growing up around extended family and having to keep apartments more simple due to constant moves I think has effected them.  Daughter doesn't miss a chance while at our house to make comments about the 'stuff'.

Every Christmas we used to have a gag gift for them. Nothing mean. So I have figured out what hers will be this year. First I thought of a calender with my sky pictures but they are kinda steep in price. So her dad suggested a cd with them. Sure can get more than 12 on a cd. Of course I dare not label it as she'd never look at it.

Haven't thought of anything for son yet. One year we gave him the Jungle Book, oh shoot was it a tape or record? I can't remember. I do remember giving her Dr. Seuss's Foot Book as that used to be her favorite.

I always keep my eye peeled for a little book called Rackety Boom the Old Blue Truck. My brother used to have me read that over and over to him until I had it memorized. I found the book once online but wasn't about to pay $45 for it. He doesn't even remember the story now!  Shoot I still remember Dick and Jane. lol

If they knew I took a picture of this when I went back in the bathroom they'd have me committed.

I had never seen one like this, nor had I been in a bathroom that a TV was mounted up on the wall.

I wanted a picture of that but the lady that was on the cell phone in the stall next to me by then was out by the sink under the tv. Still on the cell phone.

Now I know why research has found cell phones have more bacteria than a toilet seat! I never thought of guys talking on a cell since they aren't sitting, but son said they do it. Ewww...

Some how on my second bathroom trip I lost the plastic covering my little borrowed Hall memory stick. Probably when I hung the camera around my neck. Son said you can't just buy the covers. We offered to buy the stick from him but he didn't answer. Daughter got a little bag with the draw string top that jewelry comes in. I felt so bad. I'm betting the necklace of hers I was wearing pulled it loose. She liked the necklace with my shirt so she gave it to me. I didn't really want her necklace, but what can you do?

After I got home I suffered all night with that overload of food in my stomach. I can't eat large amounts. As it was I brought son's french fries home to feed the birds. Why can't these places offer Senior fare?

Cats have settle down now, or wait maybe hub took them out. Not daylight yet and he's been doing that.

A tv in the bathroom?? Lord what will they have next. And people and there cell phones--I image they have more bacteria than anything. We have got to where we carry a small bottle of that hand stuff that kills germs in my purse. That way we can clean our hands where ever we are.

I have never heard anyone talking on a cell in a bathroom, and hope I never do!!  I agree with you about the germs.  Yuck!  Odd tp holders!

When i was younger, I wasn't interested in "old" stuff either.  That only occured over the last 15 yrs.  Maybe it just happens with more sentimental people.

Are you all packed???

We have a new Red Robin here...very noisy and large portions. People who have trouble hearing over the din of conversations can't hear in there. I really think they want younger people in there anyway. Are you talking about memory sticks for computers...they seem to be priced quite reasonably.

Had to giggle about your 'STUFF' comment.  I have SO MUCH STUFF!!   But mostly family heirlooms.  One day, I made the comment to my family, that I didn't know what they'd do with it all, when I was dead and gone.  One of my sons piped up and said, "Oh, we just won't live in the house.  We'll just keep it as the family museum".  Trouble is,  my kids love it too.  I guess it'll be around for at least one more generation.  Granny

This was a meandering kind of post. I don't know how I got to the end of it but I did and then never really knew where I'd started. What does your son's shirt have printed on the front of it?

Re: seniors' portions. I order child portions. If they give me a hassle, I just pay the regular price and tell them I don't like wasting. That way I don't eat too much ( I wouldn't be able to leave it on the table if it were the larger portion *smile*).

Happy Birthday to your daughter!  I enjoyed seeing the photo.  It looked good in B&W.  Some people think that they have to have a cell phone in one ear all the time.  I'd say that you are right about the germs!
