Don't miss this page!  This message came with the email:

There is a huge rock near a gravel pit on Hwy. 25 in rural Iowa. For generations, kids have painted slogans, names, and obscenities on this rock, changing its character many times.   A few months back, the rock received it's latest paint job, and since then it has been left completely undisturbed. It's quite an impressive  sight. Click on the link below and check for yourself. There are multiple photos (all angles) of the rock.

Pastor was back today. (btw I tried to change the font and in my window it looks exactly like the pasted in piece so I have been fiddling around in here).

While off for the holiday and exposed to his daughter's TV habits he choose what he saw to make a sermon. Reality shows. He pointed out what we read in the Bible is the true reality show.

Took hub and I forever to get to the scripture text in 1 Samuel. The thin paper in our Bibles tends to stick together and by the time we get to the book we have forgotten the chapter and verse he is reading from.

He instructed us all to write down RSG even if in a margin. So out came my bulletin. R stands for 'reflect'- where we are in our relationship with God. He even used the example of their cat that hops in the empty boxes and looks out. How many of us in our busy lives take the time to reflect?

S stands for study. Read our Bibles, it still speaks to us today. We can learn where we are as we go through our studying. He used a reality show that goes into rich entertainers homes and only one of them even had a bookcase. I've not seen that show.

G stands for growth- here we put our study into action, we grow.

As he read from Col 3: 12-17 that passage came back to me without even finding it in time. At some time I had even highlighted vs. 12, "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience".  Women's Devotional Bible NIV

One thing I do know without my church family my growth would be stymied. Sort of a birds of a feather mentality you might say.

Oh wow! ! !   I went and I saw and I can not wait till morning to show my hubby.  Very impressive!  I wish we had something like that here.  That Sorenson guy is an awesome painter.  You have a great new look here.  Good Job!  I miss having my church so near.  But we are hoping to move in the near future so I can go back to my church on a regular basis.  Thank God! ! !  I really miss it!  Have a great day and a wonderful tomorrow! ! !   Much love and many hugs! ! !   Celebrate Life ! ! !  Happy New Year!

Great site, b.    Very inspiring.    A really good idea to put a stop to the graffiti 'artists'.

I feel the same way about my Catholic upbringing and the church.

What a beautiful job this gentleman did painting this rock. Let's hope that no one ever paints on this again. I will have to send this to a veteran friend.
