Sense of humor

fishtank Daughter missed her brother's birthday in March, so this got sent to him, his office fish. I just cracked up hearing about it but to get the picture really did it. He bought the fish. I think she said it's name is office fish.

I am struggling with her to make her understand we don't need Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts. She's on a compulsive buying spree I think.

She wants to make her dad a shadow box of things from his military career, like pictures and his badge. I guess she forgot our wall space isn't.

I told her anything on the wall by the kitchen can't stick out, I stagger a lot. I knocked a plaque of his off the wall so many times it couldn't be fixed. I wanted to go have another made, he didn't care that Sea World had given it to him after so many years of employment.

Well the State Farm inspector came. Our roof is fine, though he did suggest a little more sealent around the furnace chimney. Or should I say vent? This isn't a chimney. Our friend got up there and did that while hub was at the store today. Learned our insurance rate for wind/hail damage is now $750 deductible. The company decided we pay 1% more and those down around the coast are stuck with 2% unless you live within a mile of the coast then they won't insure you at all.

But we wait now to find out when the new air conditioner/furnace set up goes in. They added freon and sealed some leaks hoping that will hold us until then. I put a towel on top of the furnace to catch the water that is coming from the dripping coil rusted out pan. I knew last year this was going to happen and hub wanted to wait one more year. One more year the units will probably double in price! So I guess the storm was a blessing in disquise.

I hope poor blind Charlie doesn't get frightened with the noise. I also hope this unit holds until they can get to it.

Note: I notice xanga is counting stars given. Isn't it a shame I disabled mine? Just think of all the teeny boppers I will miss.

Seems like it is time to replace it before you have more problems.

Office fish looks very industrious! It is so sweet of your daughter to put so much thought into a gift for her father, it could be easier just handing over a box of chocs or a cigat(whatever),the thought and commitment that that goes with choosing a gift is worth more than the gift itself. Wouldn't you call that LOVE?
STARS...quite honestly I could do without all the extras that xanga add, I am not going to have premium anymore, all I do is occasionally post, I hardly have any time once I have read through the posts, and I put in a picture every now and then. Above all I am completely uninterested in learning how to add one thing or another. One thing I would like to learn is how to write downside of my pictures. I suppose it 's easy, everything is easy when you know how.

I love that fish!   I wonder how many words a minute she can type!?  LOL

The shadow box is a nice thought, but I'm with you about more knick knacks as gifts.   I have enough of that.   I'd rather humus or mulch, or some garden tools, a little wagon to carry them in, or some cat toys.   ha ha  Maybe a good book or money for the casino....

I don't know about the stars either as Maggietx says.    All the add ons the Xanga has thought about  don't concern me.    I like plain things, I suppose.

Fun gift if anyone wants more mess to deal with. Guess my age is showing. I just want to down size anything that needs extra care etc.

Love the office fish.  How creative!  Our kids are practical.  They know we don't need more "things".  I always like updated pictures of the grands, though, that I can put into the frames I already have.  Daughter-in-law in town will sometimes come with inexpensive fresh flowers, like she did this past week, or they will stop in on Sunday, and bring sub sandwiches with them, so we don't have to cook.  That is the kind of things we like.  Neither  of the DIL's have time to be crafty.  Not with 6 kids each!

Hope your AC holds out!  It would be tough without it for a while, that is for sure!

It seems as though a lot of the new features on Xanga are to keep the teeny-boppers from leaving Xanga and going to My Space.  Since Xanga has the e-props, I think the stars are redundant!

That fish is hilarious!

I am trying to put off buying a new furnace/ heat pump - it's going to be an outrageous expense!

Nobody much clicks on stars anyway. Or maybe just not for me. Hmph.

There  is a shelf in the hallway between the bedrooms,  just past the restroom door,  that I stagger into periodically and knock it to the floor along with the silk flowers on it.   Heather doesn't like my language on those occurrences.    So,  yep,  I'm with you Sis.

The thing that really messes me up is the 50 foot oxygen tube from my concentrator.   The nature of the beast is that it has a natural coil to it and I can't get it to lay flat.   A  people trap it is and snags my feet and ankles.

I don't know what petra's posers means. I am dense. I do not know doctorde either. It would be interesting though if someone asked Frank how many he played that trick on!
