Arrived before he did and must of been woozy from the 80 mile trip with only one stop when I took this. For some reason I didn't realize the color of the brick from his photo's. Probably the sun reflecting from his angle.
Dug out the cell phone to call him, it was dead but I don't think we can call out of our area code anyway. Even when we are standing in his. Hubby didn't understand what I was saying but he can take it up with Verizon. The houses beside him are both two story as is the one across the street. He has been in the process of applying some film to the arched windows so no one can look in from their upstairs but light still comes in. See that light at the garage? Under neath it are the house numbers. All of them on the street are in the bricks by the garage, brass plates. No one cleans them so I was unable to read them going down the street. Hubby could. But I ended up cleaning son's. Oh he teased he bought the Brasso just for me. The cheap light above will be replaced with one he can hook motion detector up with. It and the light at the front door that is crooked on the wall. That arborvitae by my head will be ripped out along with the hedging and the bed will be graded to allow draining rainwater to move away from the house. Whoever put it in front of the house was stupid! That's no surprise. We pulled lombardy poplars from under our eves years ago along with a ligustrum under the eaves. Seems Texans don't know things grow up. Those little hedges aren't even the same kind in this bed and on the side there are only 3 for some reason. He was a landscape designer long before a landscap irrigation design person. He wants native as much as possible. I also worked on cleaning the morter in the tile in the livingroom. Couldn't do as much as I wanted as it took his dad and him a long time to get back with the motorcycle and the toothbrush. Oh yes I did see...(got interrupted by phone. What was I going to say? LOL) It is nice tile, and btw the wall color is more like on the right wall. I had some big lights on to see. Yes I changed shirts too as I got too hot.
Notice my knee pad? That's part of the master bedroom carpeting I cut off a strip he had already pulled up. It was late and I wanted to do more but my body was worn out by then. I got an email this morning from him. He finished adding the stuff to the curve windows, connected and tested his new dishwasher and took the rest of that carpet up. He said our guess about her dog piddling every where was right on the money. Even though the carpets had been shampoo'd the underside told the story our noses were. At first I thought it was the bug bomb he used or the shampoo on the carpets or both. I grew even more suspicious as I worked on the dark areas on this nice tile btw. The lady obvioulsly couldn't paint either. This room has to be re-done. She installed this floor to the baseboards instead of under them. He also tapped on different tiles to show me where she hadn't spread the morter right. As long as he doesn't drop anything on a tile it should be alright though. But it is still a great house. These are minor things, just don't let anyone tell you a house is 'move in ready'. |
