pistache2 Son was determined this tree was dead or dying because it had yet to leaf out when he was here last. You can bet I sent him the full version size I had.   He knows a lot about plants but he hasn't been back in TX long enough to know all the tree leafing out issues. Especially a pistache they don't sell around here any more.

I was showing him big knots coming out on the branches. He said bee's, I ask how when there are no holes in the knots. I need to call the garden show guru's.

Hubby does need to prune back some of the branches for me as I have 3 tree's overlapping. Another thing for son and I to disagree about. As hot as it gets here I'd kind of like the forest look thank you. One of the trees is an Afghan Pine and the only evergreen in our back yard.

At one time folks were encouraged by the guru's to plant them and then years later cotton root rot started taking them out. So see guru's don't always know it all either. They are the same people that encouraged red tip photina's that hate our soil on maturity.

Today the wind is just raising a ruckus. Tomorrow a lot of branches from the blasted Chinese Tallow will probably be on the ground. Well not branches, twigs. lol

supertunia This is my new Rasberry Blast Supertunia. Looking at this I am betting next year it will be all solid with the amount of solid now.

But I loved it enough to buy it anyway.

I do believe in a bunch I detected a light fragerance, but it is hard to tell at a garden center.

And to think I was about ready to give up on pots this year.

Missed church today. While showering yesterday the 12oz. bottle of hair conditioner, full, fell through the back of the holder and straight onto my foot! While it isn't blue today, it isn't ready for a shoe.  Best be better by Tuesday, pool day.

At the rate our weather is staying cold, I'm beginning to wonder if it will even be warm enough by Memorial Day to plant annual flowers here!!  Yours sure look purty!!

I liked the prickly pear cactus in bloom in the last blog, too.  They actually grow as far north as Milwaukee, under ideal conditions on the south side of a house.  I grew them for several years in pots.  Kept them outside in summer, and under lights in the basement in winter.  They grew over 6 ft. tall.  Left them in the house when we sold it.  The gal that bought our house wanted all my cacti plants----all 200 of them.  She was as nutty about them as I was, and I couldn't take but a few small ones with us into rent.

Hope your foot feels better!!

OUCH!  I would have been tempted to pitch that bottle out - THAT would show it!  : )

I don't mind our trees being a little overlapping, either.  I just love the shade.  When it gets hot and everybody's grass gets scorched, ours stays a lot greener longer.

We live in the country....lots of overlapping trees here and some that are called understory trees like Dogwood and Redbud are in bloom now and wonderful looking this year.

OUCH! I know what I'd have felt like if something hit my poor foot so can sympathize with you.

The Rasberry Blast Supertunia is beautiful. I'm going to look for some when I get my petunias. We wouldn't have the same one in a year because they don't winter over here.

Hope your foot feels better by pool day.

Lovely pics! I love trees in the yard. LOTS of pines here and at the old house had a lot of them. I refused to cut them down. Think the next owners did though! lol Where I live now, we have a lot of trees --hard wood and pines--and it's lovely year round. Sorry about the bottle incident-have had that happen to me too. Maybe we should design some new shower surrounds with safer places to put things? lol *hugs*
