Humph!

I am now sitting with a fracture splint on my left foot until next weeks bone scan is done. Podiatrist thinks when the conditioner bottle fell on my foot that I ended up with a stress fracture. He said that could of happened when I walked on the foot. He can't understand why I didn't come in when it happened. I told him I figured it was just soft tissue damage. It didn't swell, just turned an ugly color.

You know I lose track of time. I thought it was last week, nope the week before. I still wouldn't have gone in if it wasn't for the pain in the heel. He wouldn't do anything about the heel because he wants to see what is going on with the top of my foot first.

I bet his technican a Luby's lunch that it isn't fractured. Daughter can't believe I choose Luby's. Hey it is close to the doctor's office and they have good food. Or did last time I was in.

I gotta figure out how to spend three hours between injecting the dye and the scan. I don't want to drive all the way back home. Daughter's apartment is closer. Maybe she'll let me go nap there.

Today the pool is going to be so hard as I need to get my foot up to put the splint on. You slide your foot in from the front. Otherwise it is way too much bending. Wil said just don't wear it to the pool. Well that defeats the purpose of having it.

Edit: I didn't get to the pool. I zonked out on the couch. Guess the leg/foot cramps at 3 a.m. wore me out. I'm thinking the splint is heavier than the muscles in my leg are used too.

No Maggie I didn't ask for pain meds. The worse was two weeks ago when I couldn't get a shoe on it. The heel pain will probably have to be injected if it doesn't resolve itself. Heck that is the only reason I went to the doctor in the first place.

I can't believe you actually caused that much damage to your foot with a bottle of conditioner! I guess this proves you never know and not to assume anything, right? No wonder you were in so much pain. :(

Well I hope they gave you something to ease the pain till you get the bone scan. I have to have a scan once a year and they usually have me go walk around for an hour or two and drink lots of water -then come back and lay on the table  for 45 minutes!! after drinking all that water???--lol--yours is probaly a different kind of scan.--hope your daughter lets you come by for a nap

How frustrating! I would never have thought a bottle of conditioner could do that either. I didn't want to test it out, though. Hope it heals up and there is no fracture and the heel pain goes away, too. Would the heel pain be related to the knock on top?

I am sorry for your frustration and your pain, B.     We can hurt ourselves seriously with such little things.     I have a friend who broke a rib bending over to pick up one of her cat's toys.

RYC    Gordon's present pain is not in his back and the doctors doubt that is could be coming from there because it is too localized in that one bone at the end of his pelvis.    So a spinal stim wouldn't be the thing right now.    We'll see what the new pain management doc says when we see him on the 15th.
