The bottle of conditioner was brand new and full 12 oz. Pretty thick conditioner too, I can hardly get it out of the bottle when I want to use it. I'm betting the distance it dropped is what made it lethal. Doc said the marks I can't see on my toe and up where the top probably hit are abrasions!

I did my walk with city staff using a cane today. My balance had been wonky all morning. They probably wondered what bottle I was tipping before arriving.

Work has already started last week, Friday.

new_tcan Every can in the park has been replaced! These cans Raymond told me they build in their shop. The design is to make it harder for the gangs or taggers, whichever name you wish to use, to get their names on them like in the past. They would have to turn the spray can sideways and spray smaller. That would probably come out blobs.

These went in and just since Frank saw them yesterday one of them already has gold tag you can't read.

The men were as nice as could be and everyone I met there was as well. They had crews in cleaning up. We did talk about the lake and it is too dangerous for them to go in to clean up with the water still in it. We spotted a dead cat in a bad place to get to so I feel sorry for whoever has to go round that up. It wasn't there yesterday either.

I learned the reason the water fountain is no longer in there. Someone drove their vehicle in knocking it over and no one reported it as water ran down the path causing some real erosion issues. Aside from wasting water.

I teased them about making the lake a permanent fixture by hooking up to a fire hydrant somewhere. I was right when I told folks it is only filled with rain. Something we didn't get last night and so far none today either.

fixed1 This is the material being used to fill in eroded spots and on path as well. Once combined with water it hardens. Yes he told me what it was called, yes I've forgotten.

As Raymond and I were leaving a water truck was waiting to pull in. Raymond was parked where he needed to drive to get in.

I was suprised to read the big sign on the trailer hauling the water tank said donated by Susan Reed our District Attorney.

I was invited to come back Saturday when they have more crews coming in to work and take pictures. Of course that is if it doesn't rain. And guess who forgot to ask what time.

When I first arrived I thought I had missed the person I was to meet and I couldn't get the guy's attention walking up the hill. Talking to some of the nice folks cleaning I thought they mentioned the name of a guy from the City Manager's office being there yesterday. I do believe from the name, if I recall correctly, that would of been the guy that was less than pleasant with my husband on the phone last Friday. Nothing to do about the Park, but to do about rig parking.

Our Councilwoman is on her last term, but apparently she cares what constituents think. She has a great staff too. I sure hate to see her go.

By the time I got home my foot hurt some so I took the splint off and sat in the recliner a little bit.

Well it looks like a good clean up is in progress--it looks real nice.

Hope your foot is feeling better--that must have been a nasty hit you took from that bottle--stange how something like that can do so much damage !!

I got your note about the flower--let me know if you can make anything out of them

Travis drops stuff on his feet quite often at work, I know it hurts. Maybe you need to start wearing steel toe shoes in the shower, B. :)

I sympathize with you and your painful foot.    I hope things even out soon and you get a little relief.     As we age (don't you hate to hear that?), even seemingly small injuries often balloon into major problems.

Take it from a person whose feet hurt all the time and have for a number of years---when your feet hurt, everything hurts!!   Or so it seems to me.   LOL

Good lord woman!  I turn around for 2 seconds and you go and fracture your foot!!  That's it. No more conditioner for you!  You will have to live with tangled, unmanageable hair until you can learn to wield that bottle responsibly.   All that said, hope it feels better soon!

This is why I don't use conditioner! Actually, I use a shampoo-conditioner combo, and I've dropped the bottle on my foot in the shower. Never a full one, though, and usually from a short distance. I once dropped a log on my little toe, so I sort of know what you're going through. Good for you for walking the park in spite of it all. That's commitment.

I bet that was shocking to hear you had more than a bruise.  It must be hard to get around with that.  I've broken my little toe several times, and that was bad enough, but a fracture of the foot...OW!

Hey, I think those trash cans are actually pretty!  Nice to know they are practical, as well.  Way to outsmart the taggers!

Good thing you don't use the liter size bottles that I use. Then again, they have pump tops, so you don't have to try and lift them with slippery hands when using them.

Aw, why would anyone want to tag such pretty trash bins?

Cheap anti-slip collar for plastic bottles:  snip the toe off of an (clean) old sock, slide it over the bottle and fold it over itself until firm.  Throw the whole caboodle away when the bottle is empty unless you can re-cycle, in which case cut the sock off and dispose of separately.  If you don't fancy a sock, use Tubegauz bandage instead!
