Pulled on tennie's and headed out with CD player hanging from my shoulder.  Beautiful walking weather, got clear around the block!  Stopped at the church and told Father Paul someone is dumping brush and tire on their easement behind my house.

Came home to get a hammer and screw driver and step stool and went out and removed the trashy laminated ad's from the utility pole. Then I pulled the vine off our fire hydrant in case they need to find it some night.

After that a few dishes washed, rest, clean up peace plant and feel miserable with achey back and pain in buttock.

Around 2 p.m. the phone rang. My doctor no less. MRI does have a change from the last one. Herniated disk.

She did not know that Dr. Pontius does not 'do backs', she had no idea who they refer to. She spoke of pain management again. That translates to back injections and I told her after the last fiasco no one was sticking a needle blindly into my back again.

She wanted to know if I knew of a Dr. that did it using CT assist. Of course I don't! I've never had one that way, I'm not in the medical field so I have no idea. What is this a 'open phone book pull out a name' business?

I had to explain the neuro surgeon they first gave me the name of wants a referral. My HMO doesn't require one.

Husband is to pick up the report and referral, I have a call in to Dr. Youngblood's scheduling person, and it will be up to me to gather the hard copy of the MRI for any appointment.

She cautioned that they will suggest surgery. I told her I doubt it as years ago I was told anyone over 55 years of age is not a good canidate.

After years of military dependent care of being told WHO you would see, and then HMO doing the same, this blind finding a doctor idea just isn't going over well.

The thing she said that really ticked me was "you are probably over doing" when I told her the pain walking in the pool and the discomfort following today's walk had caused.

How am I supposed to know what I am to do?

They could/should tell you what you should -not- be doing, but you can ask, too. Maybe they want you to try and read their minds?

Trying to remember who I know that had back surgery..... it was someone I've subscribed to's husband here on Xanga.

My Niece had surgery too..... she's doing very well.  Little recovery time, but the relief from pain was worth it for her.
