I grabbed this view last night of our beautiful sky and was excited to share it with my Xanga readers. Well you all know what happened if you tried to post.
This morning we had a bright sunrise but I have no place to stand with the camera without utility lines galore. I'm past climbing on our roof.
Though as I raised the flag I just stood staring at cloud formations.
I was sent to a page yesterday that was fairly interesting. I wrote to the dude to let this Texan know that "Don't Mess with Texas" slogan has nothing to do with the Alamo.
That is a litter campaign started I believe in the 80's to hit the younger males with pick up's that they determined some how were a big source of highway litter.
I disliked the slogan then and I still don't like it. The State brags to be the friendliest State and this doesn't sound friendly to me.
Well writing the page author I found myself on his newsletter list and I had to gently explain to him that I am cutting mail as I will be leaving my dear hub in charge of clearing the email while I spend 3 weeks in PA.
I have never understood why people think just because you contact them that you want on their list. Even funnier was my signature quote is on his newsletter now.
Yesterday was a great day around here weatherwise. I had to put shorts on! Think it got to 76 degrees. Only downside is I want to work in the yard when it is like that. All I could do was pull the dead canna leaves off the pots and unwrap the shrubs pot.
The oak tree is starting to dump leaves and that will get kind of messy as Spring comes in. Our Mountain Laurel is already blooming and a peek at the Wisteria more buds are setting. It's flowers come before the leaves.
Hung one Night Blooming cactus and had hub hang the other out front. If another freeze comes, which a light one probably will, I will just go out there and cover them. Changed the location of the one from Coral and then began to worry. If someone stole my bird bath out of my front yard what if they come steal the cactus?
Will have to watch it for sunburn too as it will get morning sun and maybe some noon sun since hub pruned that oak. I was told this kind of cactus doesn't care much for sun and last year it was on the West side of our house tucked in a Mt. Laurel.
Hopefully by April I will figure out how it is fairing.
Oh before I sign off. Any of you using my texas.net email please don't forward to me because I am evaluating spam software from Qurb and if I accept your email I will end up accepting every doggone person on your mail list. So far the only feature I don't care for as I have more to do than go through my approval list to delete these. |
