Thanksgiving Day Wishes
I love Thanksgiving Day and today is just about perfect. I woke up early to put our guest of honor, Mr. Tom Turkey, in the oven. It's about 40 degreees outside and partly cloudy in Texas, fantastic Thanksgiving weather. We are having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, with dressing and all the fixin's. All my beautiful children will be present, along with my mother, mother-in-law and some friends. The smell of the turkey, slowly cooking in my oven, fills my house and conjures up childhood memories of my mother, in the kitchen, making the same meal that I am preparing today. We will all sit at the table to dig into the meal at about 1:30 this afternoon, finishing just in time for the kick off of the Cowboys game. Before we take our first bite, everyone will give thanks for something that is unique to them. This is our tradition, one I hope that my children will remember every Thanksgiving Day. I will miss Rhodesia and Carl today. Much needed rest for Rhodesia today is the plan, but we will see her later today when we take part of our meal to their home. I am so blessed, I find myself smiling even while I am writing this. So, I wish Happy Thanksgiving to you and pray God will heap blessings on your head!
