• Bags of Beads

  Cell phones, bright idea.  Internet, another bright idea.  Giving away free bags of beads, bright idea.  Hello???  Bright ideas are sometimes a matter of opinion.  For instance, I am sure when Ford introduced the Edsel, someone thought it was a bright idea.  New Coke sounds like a bright idea, but not so much.  So when I suggested giving bags of beads away, the staff thought it was indeed a bright idea.  Apparantly, so did all of our customers.  I have spent most of the last 5 days making these bags of beads, in the floor.  Wanting each bag to be special, full of goodies to delight our beaders, I hand-picked strands and pendants and have made literally hundreds and hundreds of these give-away bags.  Sitting in the floor for days at a time is very hard on my old body.  I tried to let people help me, tried to explain just how each bag should look, but I just can't seem to give up control on this one.  Coming in early on Saturday morning, I noticed someone had tried to make some bags.   I sighed as I emptied each one on the floor, back in the bead pile, just not good enough for our customers.  Now, the give-away is over, a huge success.  I will go into the office this morning and actually, back to the floor to organize the leftover mess and wait for my next bright idea.
