  • Claritin Clearly Drowsy

This is the time of year that Kleenex makes all their money.  I should probably buy some stock.  Kleenex boxes are located in all key areas of my home:  bathrooms, kitchen, office.  I actually do pretty well controlling allergies as long as I have my dear friend around, Claritin D.  Unfortunately, it's not very convenient to obtain Claritin D these days.  You have to stand in the pharmacy line, show your drivers license, sign that you will not sell it, that it is for your private use, then you get to purchase 15 of these lifesavers.  So, you can imagine how disappointed I was to discover I was totally out of Claritin D on Friday.  By the time I got home on Friday evening, I was pretty miserable.  Digging through Ron's drawer, I discovered a Benedryl.  I had no plans for the evening, so in my mouth it went.  Thirty minutes later I was out for the night.  Waking up to a beautiful Saturday morning, I made my cup of coffee and immediately the sneezing began.  "Why don't you take something?" was Ron's question.  "Well, I would love to, but I don't have anything that won't make me sleepy" I replied.  Ron reached into his briefcase and pulled out a lovely little bottle of allergy relief medication.  Yippee!  "The dosage is 2" he said, so 2 went into my mouth.  As we sat on the patio, drinking our morning coffee, I looked at Ron and asked "Are you sure these are non-drowsy"?  "Yes, I'm positive", said he.  Grabbing my glasses, I yanked the bottle from the briefcase only to read "will cause marked drowsiness".  Then, I knew, a beautiful Saturday would pass me by, because I will be in bed.
