This time, Springtime In The Rockies taped sucessfully! I watched it this morning, and it had a lot more of a plot than I expected (it also had less of Harry James than I expected, but it was still good). Carmen Miranda's Brazilian version of "Chattanooga Choo-Choo" is priceless, and a lot of the cast members also appeared in The Gang's All Here. I also watched A Song Is Born recently, and Benny Goodman is actually one of the actors, not just a cameo musician! He plays the part of one of the professors who's been working on a musical encyclopedia for nine years. Besides Benny, many other best-of-the-best musicians are featured, such as Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton, Tommy Dorsey, Charlie Barnet, and Mel Powell. Next, I'll have to see Ball of Fire, which A Song Is Born was based on. No Benny in Ball of Fire, but Gene Krupa's in it!

Mostly, I watch them on AMC and TCM, borrow them from friends, or buy them at amazon.com. Also, one of the Blockbusters near me used to be an AMC rental store. :-) Whitey's Lindy Hoppers movies are hard to find, though, but I, too, would absolutely love to see them!!
