there's no doubt about it.  artie shaw was an excellent musician, but benny goodman was the best that swing ever had, past or present.  even if he had done nothing but that one live version of sing sing sing, he would have been the best ever.  that song is hands down, the best song ever to dance to.  i just can't ever sit that one out.  impossible.  benny is....i don't know.  just incredible.
