Today is Gene Krupa's birthday!

So, go listen to some of his recordings, watch your favorite GK video, buy a cake, and tell all your friends to have a great Gene Krupa Day!

Happy birthday Gene! :D

Have you seen "The Gene Krupa Story" with Sal Mineo?

Actually, I never have! I missed it the one time it was on TV recently, and so far I haven't found a rental place that has it . . . Maybe I'll find a cheap copy somewhere . . .

How is it? I heard it's the farthest removed from the acutal life of the musician out of the three "The so-and-so Story" movies they made. But, Sal Mineo wasn't acutally that bad of a drummer, and then having him dubbed over w/ Gene . . . Well, the music is good, I'm sure!

It's been a long time since I saw "The Gene Krupa Story" but I remember it more of a sensational bio-pic than it was accurate. Mineo certainly looks like Krupa and you definitely can't beat the music!

From the female perspective . . .
I have interviewed two female Krupa fans (OK, myself and a friend ), and both of us agreed that Mineo was kinda cute had some resemblance to Krupa, but that Krupa was much better looking. hehe

I've been checking out Half.com and such for cheap copies lately . . .
