The first half of January was spent in pretty dreary, typical, soggy, January weather. Then it got quite cold. It got colder many other places, but here it dropped into the upper teens and maxed out at thirty during the days.  We had a little over a full week of amazing days. Sunny, golden, beautiful, very cold days. The average high I think was about 25 degrees.  And so it happens that for the second time of my remembered life I have had a sunny, or otherwise gorgeous birthday. The first pictures are taken yesterday, on the 25th. Little did we know that it was to be our last sunny day!  The others were taken today. About.. half an hour ago. enjoy! • Ah. Dreary days. Early nights. Mingled and confused weathers. Exhilaration of first snows mixed with remorse and disgust at untimely rains. Yet, pervading the scene a sense of utter laxidasicality and anticipation.

    So:
Tail end of October saw my family meeting up with other bits of family at the cabin. It was a simply delicious time, and not altogether figuratively. The air up there, as anyone knows is nearly better than food, unless the cooking is really quite swell. And, well, it was. I still think I like the air better tho ;)

November has found me at midterms and papers to write and math hw and spanish hw and.... etc. <nods>
You all know the drill. However, I'm happy. What's interesting tho, is we haven't had stitch of rain in November yet. I'm so used to the sky crying out it's sorrows the whole first week of November I'm really disoriented, as it did that almost exactly a month ago. October almost didn't seem real as a result. I'm not used to the new daylight savings time yet... I guess it's tonight:  I'm kinda glad, cause I'm getting to bed late... again. Ah well, the perils and the joys of youth eh?
Also, something I've discovered... The Phantom of the Opera. I know many people have this horrible idea about Opera in their heads, and most of them have never heard an opera. I used to be the same. I heard the reviews and was disgusted. Who wants to listen to people stretching their voices to the extent that dogs begin howling, and doing a lot of word-obliterating vibratos, except you couldn't understand it anyways, cause you don't know Italian? Not I. However.... That's not what Opera is all about. Certainly, there is bad opera. But opera is ... <breathe> amazing. I love it. I've been an adoring fan ever since my friend invited me to accompany her to an opera. It is the most outstanding thing in my knowledge of artistic class. Phantom of the Opera is a brilliantly humorous edition of both the Good and Bad operas. There is Carlotta... who is the epitome of what most ppl think of "opera". And it is. And  it's very talented. And it's hard to listen to. And then there is Miss Christine Daaê... who is. Good. Very good. <nods> you should all familiarize yourselves with the soundtrack if you haven't been exposed already.
Finally, I've learned (by accident) how to make those little things that everyone else has been making for hundreds well... tens of years. ☺♫ re a drop of golden ☼♪ ‼
Hope this finds all of you doing splendidly well! (and just because I can: ♀φΦ╚▬▬⌠⌡╠╬╤╪╛Στⁿ╓ ≈δ♣§☼☻☺π♫•○^►Θ◄ ¥£░♥░░░░░█████♥█┼:☺◙º√♪ I bid thee farewell!
Peace and good tidings and happiness...

  • A week in review

    In one week I've:
    • Locked my keys, wallet, cell phone, and lunch, in the car.
    • Paid to get in to the foot ball game (this may not seem remarkable, but...I'm with the band. <tear>)
    • Been sedentary all of Saturday, all by my self wrapped in this ginormous ugly quilt that I love. It's wool. And big. And I listened to Wuthering Heights. I haven't decided if I like it yet.
    • Got my braces off
    • Creased the passenger side of my car (long story)
    • Watched the rain.
    • All that rain.
    • Become totally disoriented in date, because of the rain. i.e. It's NOT November (by the way!!) it *is* October. Hence, all the halloween stuff at the stores. <headdesk>
And that's my story. Happy days all!
