"On every question of construction, carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."Thomas Jefferson to Supreme Court Justice William Johnson, June 12, 1823

Also, one of these days I'm going to write an entry as to which side a Christian British subject living in the American Colonies should have taken in the Revolutionary War.  I'll do it based upon what the Magna Carta pronounces as rights of men, acts of Parliament, and the legal nature of rebelling colonies versus a recognized country (thank you France).  And, of course, all decisions as to which side we should have taken during those times will be based upon what the Bible orders us as Christians to do in regards to government and what "legitimate government" really means.  Should be fun.

I'll be waiting for that one. In response to a previous post: Love like almost all things in life is a choice. Or an emotion based upon a choice to have that emotion (more specificly). I don't know if I even believe that there is such a thing as "true love" or being "in love" with someone as pop culture would define them. All there is is loving someone. It's the only thing easy to define, simple enough for me to understand. There are different degrees and intensities to which you can love someone, but all it is is a choice. And how much more romantic and appealing is a choice to love than not having any choice about it at all.

Loving someone is all there is.
