"On every question of construction, carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed."Thomas Jefferson to Supreme Court Justice William Johnson, June 12, 1823

You know, in this war on terror, I keep hearing something about the war in Afghanistan versus the war in Iraq.  People on the left go on and on about how Afghanistan was a just invasion because we were fighting directly those who had attacked us on 9/11/01 but that the invasion of Iraq was unrelated to 9/11 and therefore wrong.

Let's get something straight: Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks of 9/11/01.  Iraq had very, very little to do with al Qaeda.  But Iraq was a major supporter of terrorists in Palestine.  And they did turn a blind eye to pretty much anything that could possibly hurt the US, Israel, or Iran (remember, Iran, as a nation, hates al Qaeda--it's their leadership that supports it).  More importantly is the overall screw up that is the region.

*I'll expand on this later...
