There's a stretch of road six miles long between my urban campus and the highwayandthelake called MLK. It's on the outskirts of some socioeconomically impoverished neighborhoods. Below the houses and businesses lining either side, there is a valley through which the road winds, and there are trees and grasses and flowers on either side. These are part of the Botanical Gardens and the Cultural Gardens. There are trees indigenous to Lithuania and shrines to Zimbabwe. I feel calm when I drive through the gardens at dusk on the way to 90 and night driving to my little apartment. Cleveland has its faults, but it also has these amazing little spaces that make you really glad to be alive.
Work's been insanely busy lately. Mostly Monday I bitched a lot because I felt that my workload was unfairly huge. I'm fine now, having done most of the big chunk of it. Also, my coworkers respect me for it and most of them genuinely want good things for me. We'll see what comes of it.
Sleeveless shirts at work three days in a row - an unprecendented miracle.
I look forward to an evening to myself, curled up with a book, scrounging for food (I really will have to go grocery shopping soon), maybe playing some mindless games and listening to my groovy tunes.
Thanks for everything... Always...

Those little parks! I miss them.
I've been sleeveless for six months--the place hasn't enough A/C right now.
