  • Spilling Womb

    Cunt clots
    - proud, serene jellyfish in a
    porcelain sea
    - papered fingers with blots of
    crimson.

    Reflection in the bowl,
    blouse pulled up toward belly,
    head leaning, seeing
    aperture in negative -
    dripping like tiger's jaw after
    razing  fresh  meat.

Well that's a heck of a first post to read.

I didn't really like the Vagina Monologues.  I thought they could have been done better.  For example, any number of my stories (none of which I've yet chosen to share on xanga) could have made a decent contribution.

Thank you for your comment.  Although, I must say that I refused to read the part where you wind up happily ever after, mostly out of sheer jealousy.

Ah, your poetry self is in fine form I'm glad to see. This is a powerful little poem, really packs a punch. The topic, despite the Vagina Monologues, virtually taboo; the images here are striking, visceral, visual, strong. I love it!

powerful words...  and brenda as usual said it best! this is one of the best things i've read by you. i love the imagery and power behind it! (ignore doug- he's a grouch!)

:) we all have ppl who are asses in our life and each one needs their own special way of dealing with...just ignore him when he's acting stupid or tell him that he hurt your feelings. you have a right to have feelings!!! even w/ jerks!!! and they should know when they hurt them too!!!

Hey, I might have missed this.  LOVE the first line.  Love all of it, in fact and for all the eloquently-put reasons Brenda gives.  You nailed that last line, too.  I agree with Jeri, too, I think this IS your best poem.  But then I've only seen a couple.  Bring 'em on.  You've been holding out on us I guess.
