  Ooh, I just got an assignment to write an article for a Real Estate magazine on behalf of the entrepreneurship center here at UD.  I'll be in contact with the editor to see about length and things like that, and I'll contact the library here to see if I can get a copy of the magazine to look at the language, the target audience, and things like that.  This will be fun!  I stole the "survey" below from one of my brother's friends on the "other" site (myspace).  Some of you don't like forwards, but I tend to find that the questions are interesting fodder for reminiscing, conversation, and blog topics.  So, some blurbs...

  How old were you when you first............
  
  Fell in love - I had just turned 13 in Columbus, MS, and my heart was swept away by the drawling old-fashioned 16 year old boy next door.

  Lost someone close to you - Grandpa died in the summer of 1999, a few days after my birthday.  He might not have been the first, but he was the closest.  He gave me the beat up Fiero that made me fall in love with the car as a concept, he was always there in my childhood.  I wish he had been around to see my senior year of high school, my loves, my wedding.
  
  Got drunk - 18
  
  Smoked weed - 22, I think - the one and only time

  Got kissed - I think I was 8.  I "dated" John and then his little brother Jerry, who was all about the kissing.
  
  Got stung by a bee - That was in the same area, around 8.  Somebody swatted the thing into my thigh.

  Went to the hospital - My first and only stay in a hospital was part of a day when I had tubes put in my ears.  The "monkey gas" knocked me out while they did it. 

  Got your heart broken - The first time was my senior year of high school.  The breaking took a while to really happen - it was a slow cracking for a bit.

  Lost a pet - The one I remember happened the same summer Grandpa died.  We were in the RV and Sam ran away.  She was old.  My mom says she was going away to die with dignity.

  Got arrested - nunca
  
  Broke a bone - also never
  
  Got jumped - not violently
  
  Got a job - Aside from frequent baby-sitting, my first regular job was at 17 at Wendy's. 
  
  Got cheated on - sort of happened once in May of 2000
  
  Cheated on someone - sort of happened but-not-technically several times in Fall, 2000
  
  Got a boyfriend/girlfriend - 8th grade (5th doesn't count)
  
  SERIOUS relationship? 8th grade counts, but senior year was a whole different ballgame
  
  Lost your virginity? 18
  
  Rode the city bus - I guess that didn't happen until college.  
  
  Went to a concert - 18.  My first concert was Godsmack (opened by Puddle of Mudd and Deftones) - I knew maybe one of their songs.  Lydia had an extra ticket and I said, sure.
  
  Met someone famous - no one really famous.  Some of my college professors are famous.  I know people who know famous people, so I'm two steps away from a lot of them.
  
  Got in a car crash - 17 - totally my fault.  The first time was hella-embarrassing.  So was the second (and last one so far), but it was more understandable.
  
  Dyed your hair - hasn't happened
  
  Rode in an airplane - I was a baby the first time.
  
  Went to another state - six weeks old... hopped the pond in less than a year

  Pets do you have - one now - my dear Kaylee.  I still consider my parents' dog, Milly, part of my family.
