After barely making it to the airport on time on Thursday, we wound up waiting hours in both Indy and Chicago due to bad weather. When we finally touched down in San Antonio, we were warmly greeted by mom, sister, and Taco Cabana. Freshly-made tortillas are hard to beat. We slept in a long time on Friday before going with mom and sis to see

X-Men 3, which I really enjoyed. Apparently, there's an interesting scene after the final credits roll, and though I saw the movie twice last week, I missed it both times [but don't worry... somebody told me about it later. And I didn't
have to perform sexual favors to find out, either]. We left the freezing-cold theater (all theaters in San Antonio are air conditioned to arctic temperatures) and I basked in the stifling oveny warmth of the car. In fact, the heat didn't bother me much all weekend. There were a few nights when I woke up sweating because somebody accidentally turned off the fan, but other than that, everything was quite pleasant. After the movie on Friday, the four of us went to Red Robin, which was somehow disappointing compared to the RR here in town, but the company was excellent. Saturday was full of the whole family eating lots and then being full of deep pride when my new sister walked across the stage. She was second out of a 500+ class, one of ten summas (with grade averages at or above 100 points). Steve and I started making fun of some of the names to pass the time, and we pointed at the tiny figures of old teachers of ours. (At Project Graduation (the after-party), Amanda won a laptop! Totally sweet (what a whore!)!!) On Sunday we did a whole lot of beautiful nothing. I think that might have been the day Steve pulled out Star Trek IV (the movie) and asked if I a) knew the title and b) remembered what it was about. After a moment's hesitation, I answered both questions correctly and asked why he was testing me. He wanted to see if I really was as much a dork as he thought I was

But that's why he married me. Either that day or the next
HE also picked out Fried Green Tomatoes, after Memaw quoted it at
Denny's (I <3 French Toast).

It was his first time watching the chick flick, and I think he liked it well enough. More movies and fun and lots of hanging out with old friends came later (and those will be more interesting to read, I'm sure), but I'm too tired at the moment to write more.
Monday pm » Thursday = officially pending
Today I spent more time with my parents, and I'm proud of my mother for starting to write again. I picked up The Goblet of Fire to read, so I'll go do that before snoozing. Toodles.

"What does god want with a starship?!"
And this nerd missed the X3 final scene.
I also heart fried green tomatos. Such a good movie.
And yes, all the theaters here are about 58 degrees.
So glad you had a good trip!
The ice planet was in ST6 after Kirk (and his crew) were framed for killing the Klingon chancellor.
The god confrontation happened in ST5 after a madman brainwashed the crew into flying their ship the god's prison planet, and the madman was revealed to be god's puppet, and god turned out to be wrathful, and mean.
Lesson: when a god asks for your help, nuke it from orbit first, THEN wonder what it needs with you.
Yes, I am a nerd.
