Do you remember this song? It's been years, probably, since I've heard it. I love Yahoo Radio.
It's pretty goofy - Pluto's no longer a planet.
This afternoon I get to take minutes during a two hour faculty and staff meeting. It should be... something.
After the meeting, I'll go home and change into jeans, then drag my
husband to the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery for the faculty and staff
"retreat." There are no paintings or sculptures at this "museum"
- just turtles and a laser show. And lots of free food.
I volunteered to help clean up after the party's done, too.
They'll recruit me to be a real, proud member of UD yet.
I was spoiled by being madly in love with the first campus at which I
worked - my alma mater. I like UD, but I don't know it as
intimately as I know that other university hours northeast of
here. Good ol' Cleveland, with its abundance of dorky engineers,
its bitter winters, its beautiful, sprawling, urban campus.
Case's business school isn't ranked as high as UD's but it had a better
(if weirder) building, and some of its department assistants were
absolutely hilarious. Ze good ol' days, indeed.
Enough rambling - just heard Simon and Garfunkel's "America," which is
another classic. And now - to fritter away another twenty minutes
before I go help Margaret set up and guard the food.
A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
And tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill.

"It took me four days
To hitchhike from Saginaw . . ."
Good song.
Dear Emily,
When I was in sixth grade, I told one of my friends that I was from Pluto. I showed him carefully aged "documents" like a passport and misson instructions in the "Plutonian" language. I acted like I was an early emissary for the Plutonian people, studying the Earth. The poor guy bought it hook line, and sinker.
So, as a "Plutonian" I must express my shock and disbelief at this turn of events. Does this mean that nine planet solar system models will become collector's items. Or do you just break off the last "planet." and sell them as "eight planet" solar system models. How can you 'demote' a planet. I'm sure that the Plutonians will probably call for a war.

Arf on Pluto
no longer being a planet!
Charon being considered
as a possible planet was
also stupid,
seeing
as how it orbits Pluto
and not the Sun.
This is my rant.
Do you like it?
Thank you.
I hate when I forget to proofread!
Dig that Mr. Kite.
