    Here's an old standard:

The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sun-burned hands I used to hold

Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

There are obviously many versions of this song:  Nat King Cole, Eva Cassidy, even our very own Carey.  My favorite version for a while, though [,since Carey hasn't graced us with an audio clip of her lustrous voice], is one by Tierney Sutton.  She's a rising star in the world of jazz vocalists.  I came across her music because her brothers are students and permanent fixtures at my alma mater.  A mutual friend came across the CD through the Sutton Brothers and I fell in love with this track.

Here's to a three day weekend (yay Catholics and their love for Columbo!) and some absolutely gorgeous weather - and to improving health - and family - and snuggling under covers in crisp, lazy mornings.
