The whole experience of the wedding was beautiful, from the drive out there (including staying out of Carey's state of mind) to checking into the hotel to helping set up things at the beautiful, simple church to the ridiculously long rehearsal/getting to know the gaggle of bridesmaids to the hilarious, exceptionally tasty, and exceedingly generous rehearsal dinner to time with my husband at the hotel to the morning of the wedding to getting the groom (and my date) a haircut to the chocolate cake to old friends from college to cleaning up and realizing it takes a village to have a proper wedding to the sweet drive back to reflections and fun with Texas friends online.  Yeah, it's like that.  This wedding was a run-on sentence.  I never felt rushed, and I never ever felt bored.  I was useful or stimulated or just grateful and thankful the whole time.  And God bless Rachel and Evan.  Their wedding was uniquely theirs, with quirks and and subtle beauties that really shared their flavor.  The joy was contagious, and listening to the vows and prayers again after 13 months enriched my own marriage.  I heard some funny stories at the rehearsal dinner that I may be able to steal come Wednesday, but we'll see if they make their way into Wacky November Adventures, Take One.

I'm grokking on music and thinking about going to church before I go hang out with my parents while the boy is at work.  I actually hit the "New Weblog" button to share this quotation I stole from Oceanstarr.  It's also my away message.  I love it, and it fits so well to me right now.  Love to all!

The only reason we don't open our hearts and minds to other people is that they trigger confusion in us that we don't feel brave enough or sane enough to deal with. To the degree that we look clearly and compassionately at ourselves, we feel confident and fearless about looking into someone else's eyes.
