warning: written Friday morning a bit after midnight

It's so rare that I want something for myself.  I want *you* to want it with me.  Concord grapes, for example, taste so much better when you can look your best friend in the eye and laugh at/with her for the smudge of purple on her mouth.  There's something inherently playful and sexy about that line, too, that I stole from somewhere, maybe Dahl or someone equally as British and lithe and wild, about the purple mouths.  Or was it cummings or somebody?  I look it up....  HA!  I can't find it in google, seeing as I probably have some element wrong, and certainly some vital element missing.  But, Honestly, how *do* you research something you only have a foggy memory Of.  (Because purposefully dangling prepositions are precocious.)

This album makes me winsome, my kittens.  In a willowy, nostalgic thronging sort of way.  Is it the return of snow to this Spring?  Is it the advent of my four day weekend?   And weariness denied because I like the company of my husband PVPing next to me.
Ha!  I figured it out!  This album is like The Moody Blues, only with more substance

There's a reason they lump it all under "progressive rock," isn't there?
I just realized - The Beatles' "Please Please Me" is about oral sex.

Ah...vaguely remembered song lyrics. I honed my own Google-fu using those things.

Whoah!  Git down, an' all 'roun...  Someone used to say that.  Maybe my brother-in-law.  Love it when you go all sensual.  How come no one else does?  Go there I mean :).  Enjoy your feast and Happy Easter to you and your mom, too (and of course your husband).

Emily, I can't thank you enough for your most generous comment.  It was not effortless.  I had to close my eyes and really pay attention to the essence of the memory.  And I couldn't find an ending so I just kept writing until it came.  Also, I'm not used to organizing my thoughts.  I much prefer rambling but I wanted something for my files so I tried.  I looked at it this morning and there was something off about it that I can't put my finger on.  You say nuance but I don't know how to do that.  The rhythm feels blunt but at least it's uniform.  If you have any time over the weekend I'd be ever so grateful if you could give me some constructive critisism.  I know it needs something.

I had to look up the lyrics, but yes, it makes sense what you say. I don't think anyone picked it up at the time though!

I wish you had found from where the concord grape passage came, because I, too, remember it from one of my literary rendezvous, but cannot remember which, and my OCPD is kicking in something fierce.
