Yay kilts. Boo haagis lol. Honestly, one of the reasons I don't plan to marry CB is because my parents split up after 20-something years. I don't see the point in making the contract. As long as we can make it work, we'll stay together. We've survived 8 years unmarried and don't plan to change that.
ryc- Monster doesn't really react much to pet birds at all. I expected him to be more... predatory, but he's not. He's the same laid back dog all the time - regardless of cats or monkeys or birds or other dogs LOL. I got lucky there.
Dear Emily,
I don't know if there is a city called Orange County in any other part of the countyr, but in Cali, O.C. is a county and not a city. Some Major cities within the county are Anaheim, Santa Ana, Newport Beach, and Irvine. I certainly wouldn't take this test. I live in L.A. and I think that I shall always live in L.A.
I just read your previous three or four entries. Keep the "What I learned" end tag on your blogs. Nobody else does this that I know of, and I thought it summed up your entries very well. I'm getting tired of reading "questions" at the end of everyone's posts. I seem to always read "questions" on other blogs, but never "conclusions". "What I learned" constitutes conclusions. Keep it in your blogs!Mikey likes it!
Reading so much about weddings makes me remember going to lots of weddings back in the 70s when I was in my 20s. Soon the weddings stopped, and then a few decades later, I started attending funerals. Life is just one big cycle, going round and round.
RYC: I mainly just had a bad day, not a serious bout of depression. I've learned to "mask" depression lately, and thus the subject of the poems, which I actually thought were quite well written. I've written so few poems this year and the last couple of years, after penning over 60 of them in 2004. I had to stay home yesterday for the DirecTV guy to come and readjust my dish because the roofers knocked it out of whack. So many irritating things happened over the past few days I might just try to compose a humorous blog entry about it. Today is the Elvis marathon on TCM so I didn't "miss" it because of no signal, so I'm a bit happier. One good upshot about calling DirecTV was that I'm going to upgrade to all digital in a week, with a new receiver and dish. I'm always talking about my widescreen HDTV, but I watch "regular" television on it, and have to cover up the unused parts of the screen with "curtains". Now I will finally be able to watch Desperate Housewives and Lost in widescreen HDTV, and hopefully the picture on DirecTV will be as sharp as my DVDs. This is only going to cost an additional 10 bucks a month on top of the 300 dollars the lease on the new receiver will cost. The dish installation is free.
So next week I'm sure I won't be depressed at all. I'm taking Thursday off for the installation, and Friday off as well, to "test drive the system" for a four day weekend! I also intend to make a couple of MikeVideos over the next week. I went out yesterday and took more footage on Ocean Blvd. in Long Beach, and will construct an internet movie this weekend with the Ocean Blvd. theme. I'm thinking of using Paradise City as the background music. Then I'll be using the Elvis footage to create "ElvisMovies 3". The first two compliations are some of my most watched videos on YouTube.
Gotta go.

Boy, if I got those results, I would be all about moving to the Caribbean! :)
Thank you for your kind comment! To answer your question, I got the idea for a Promise Can while surfing the net for Bible Study topics. It's more commonly known as a Promise Box, but we empty several formula cans in a month, and they make excellent containers! Anyway, the idea is to fill the container with Bible verses (God's Promises to us) and pull one out each day to memorize and just refer to throughout the day. You'd be amazed at how each day, the verse you pull out is sooo appropriate! :)
