It's been a crazy week, but a really good one. Let's do a run-down by day (I'm a sucker for arbitrary organization).
Thursday:
- learned that our seller's leaving us her washer and dryer!
- also learned we can't close on the 12th (Veteran's Day) so will try to move back to the 15th
- get to move in at closing, instead of up to seven days later, because happy bride moving lady wins!
- stayed up late watching Star Trek and playing Sheepshead
Friday:
- slept in
- neglected going to the gym in favor of shopping for living room furniture. found good stuff!
- pondered the utter cruelty of getting Kaylee's claws removed; will fight with husband
- went to evil, tasty mid-range food chain for fresh-ish fish and tasty biscuits of death
Saturday:
- drove to Cincy; weather was confused, and thus so was my car's heater; I avoided it when possible
- loved on C&C, their cats, and guests A&A
- ate much candy and byooooooteeful soup, played much game, (re)discovered the hula hoop*
- talked about everything, fell naturally back into beautiful friendships, enjoyed a couple episodes of "How Clean Is Your House"
Sunday:
- woke early, had good breakfast and good talk
- got haircut from Caro, enjoyed hula hoop some more, played more game (a pirate game!)
- got goodie bag for me and the errant husband, sped back home, passing A&A
- went to library for 4.5 hours (, wanted to live on the sixth floor where all the cool books are), loved on kitten and husband
Today:
- enjoyed that the apartment was warm when I woke and the sky wasn't dark
- nibbled a chocolate scone (because husband loves me) and peppermint tea
- got back into swing of things at work
- will spend afternoon finishing homework, but first must show you silly cat
* I don't think I was at all adept at 'hooping' when I was young. Friends A&A made their own hoops since I last saw them. Here's how you can do it, too! A&A used 12 feet of tubing and three colors of electrical tape. If I can't get them to make me one for Christmas, I think making my own hoop will be my first project at the new house. The thing I've learned is that a heavy hoop is easier to work with. Also, most of us naturally hooped counterclockwise, while Caro insisted on going clockwise. I wonder why this is. I'll also be looking up hoop-related workouts

Don't declaw!
I told my mom I would declaw my cat but then I only had him neutered! I tricked her but I had bad feelings about it - like that maybe he would bleed to death if we did declaw him. He digs holes in everything now but at least if he sneaks out of the house, he can somewhat defend himself.
Plus when I trim his little nailies, we get to spend quality time together (if he's not struggling to get away!)
The claw issue is part of why I don't deal with cats. I don't think it's cool to chop their little fingers, but I can't deal with the clawing.
How old is Kaylee? It would seem kind of cruel if it's an older cat used to them (or if it would be outside and need them to defend self ,etc.). Of course if it's a massive behaviour problem that's bringing this up what can you do?
And congrats on the free washer and dryer!!!
RYC: Noun switching is frowned upon here. Yellow bile? What on earth did she get into to cause that? And don't sweat missing the call. It seems most of the western world (or at least the people in it that I have a phone number for) were oot and aboot that night.
Sounds like a lot of good times and some good news. Love that pic, btw. ICHC rocks!
I love "how clean is your house" because it just makes me feel a little better about myself.
Aw! I cannot declaw. Honey was when I got her and she is bummed about it. She runs when the other two get theirs out to play. It's silly but when I first got her, she wouldn't come up to me except to show me her paws. It was as if to say "Look what happened." I understand saving the furniture too though. It just makes me wince a little.
Oh yummmmm biscuits of death! With ranch dressing. I would be a goner. those are the cheesy garlic butter deals right. Oh man. You have named my craving!
Or a right handed switchfoot.
