- Motown on the radio on the freeway in the middle of the night in downtown, any downtown
- Blueberries!
- "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd
- Light Vanilla Soy Milk (Silk, of course)
- acoustic "Layla" by Slowhand
What did I do today? I woke up late, helped my mom prune a great old fir in her front yard, watched too many episodes of "Crossing Jordan," ate enchiladas of death, made and am drinking a smoothie, and grokked on some music. I think I'll play some Settlers of Catan before bed and, if I'm good, I'll read some more of
Island of the Blue Dolphins. I never read it when I was young, so I picked it up on a whim at my parents' library last Friday. Not that I don't have literally a dozen other books to choose from, mostly YA.
Tomorrow:
I'll finally get around to planting my baby fruits and veg.
Sweet dreams!

I don't drink a lot of milk to begin with. Soy milk lasts longer and goes well in cereal, on the rare occasion I eat it. Even Steve's getting into it now for smoothies. There's also the whole only-baby-cows-should-be-drinking-milk idea, but that's just a corollary. Now I just like it.@Boowasborn -
Thanks to you, I biked todayI like soymilk because they add the sugar for you.
And no, it's not the only milk in my house, because soy milk cannot be used in baking.
And, um, there's no way to make "Layla" sound any good without wailing guitars, I think. Clapton's unplugged version sounds like he's drunk and / or sad, like he'll never get his Layla and is just drowning his sorrows around an open Mic.
I better download this version and have a listen, huh?
Oh, and classic Motown is always good for downtown.

It helps if you're raised on it... but you're right, he does sound drunk and melancholy. If I assume that Layla is about George Harrison's wife, then it makes perfect sense when he was in the pining stages. "Something" is still a better love song, but who knows.
